Im an idiot

I ****ed up my computer like the idiot I am. I go into Windows Explorer and I changed file type of .exe and so now I have to fix it. I can't close anything down because if not I can't open it up again. Was wondering if any of you know what opens an .exe ? Stupid question, but maybe there is an answer. Or if not, do you know how to restore the settings without deleting everything in my comp. But remember, I can't use like System Restore, because that is a .exe

Have you tried using the DOS prompt?

yeah dos-prompt will work

if not, just reboot and get into command prompt

then modify extensions from there

assuming you dont know how...

ASSOC is the command to list the associations

type ASSOC .exe to view the current association with .exe files

it should be "exefile"

so type assoc .exe=exefile

should work...
