  • Routers and Listing

    Two things.

    1. How can I list all computers connected to my router? I used-to-could. I forgot how. I want to see if someone is stealing wireless.

    2. I have a ton of old shows and movies I want to list out so I know what I have. I know you can do it in DOS, but I don't remember how to do that either.

For example it would be nice for it to list like this:

    F:\MySpleen\Animaniacs
Animaniacs - 11 - No Pain, No Painting, Les Miseranimals [dummy].avi
Animaniacs - 12 - Garage Sale of the Century, West Side Pigeons.avi
    F:\MySpleen\Banned Cartoons
    Disney - A Good Time For A Dime.avi
    Disney - Mickey's Fire Brigade.mpg
    F:\MySpleen\David the Gnome
    1 David The Gnome - Good Medicine.avi
    F:\futurama\Futurama - Season 1
    Futurama - S01E06 - A Fishfull Of Dollars [dd].avi

    and so on...

IF you could I'd really appreciate it.

Uh..not entirely sure what you mean..but I'll try to help.

First off share some stuff, and then access the computer by \\(computer name)

      1.
Try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in internet explorer, this should be your router's config page. You can also use this to set up a password so people can't steal your wireless.

      2.
      Start -> Run -> CMD

It should start in C:\Documents and Settings\Name

Navigate to the folder you want:

CD Dir name goes to it. So CD F:\Myspleen\Animaniacs

Then you can type dir /p to list all files a page at a time.

Or dir /o:e /p to list them all a page at a time AND in extension order (i.e. .avi etc)

Write a script that just pings to all IP's and see who's responding and so who is on your network.
Or it might be easier indeed to check your routers'page.
It shows you the IP's that are connected.
