What was the reason for the choice of motherboard? Just curious.

I would have gone with the 650i SLI Chipset based board and ran duel graphic cards using the SLI Bridge allowing the bandwidth for the graphics to double. I just made a system here at my place of employment using the MSI P6N SLI Platinum Board for a similar cost as to what you paid for the Gigabyte GA-965P. I must say the duel vid cards are a nice touch for the X16graphics (e-Gforce 7950 GT KO cards).

I only wish this was the system I had at home.

The 650i boards are nice, but watch out for the EVGA version. They have absolutely no information such as instructions or extras that come with the card. All you get is a box and Motherboard...that's it! MSI came with a ton of extras and a good manual especially for overclocking settings and so on.
