Game won't start up, goes to ticker mode

Maybe someone can help me, 'cause God knows ?help is worthless nowadays if it's not "how do I fire?" or "how do I change freq's?"

So, I open up Continuum, and I log in (this happens on both versions) and what not, the black splash screen comes up and then it minimizes, as if a window popped up or something (but nothing does) and then I click on the Continuum in the taskbar and then it goes into ticker mode (Alt+Tab chat mode)...And thus continues the cycle... Anyone know why or how it can be fixed?

It's not the scree resolution (on my computer or in the game options), and it works in window mode.

Has anything changed since it last worked (install new application, PC crashed, etc.)?

Consider using System Restore to restore to a point in time when it did work. Looks like a DirectX issue to me, try running dxdiag.exe frm 'Run' command line and select 'Display' tab, run DirectX tests. At some point, consider re-installing video drivers.

Try changing the color depth to 16 or 32 bits

Looks like something wrong with directdraw (Continuum tries to switch to that when you go into full screen).
Try to run 'dxdiag' and run the directdraw tests. Make sure you have the latest updated directx version.

I'm thinking Maverick already has this one nailed but I remember this happening once to me and it was a spyware issue. Something, for some reason unknown to me, was opening and closing several times a second. Try opening ctrl+alt+del and organize the list by Image Name. Scroll through and if you see a task executing and terminating constantly, there's your problem. A spyware sweep took care of it in my case but in the video I don't see your window flashing like mine was (as if it was switching back and forth between whatever was opening and the ticker window) so try Mav's method first.

Oddly enough, Flibb's advice worked... For some reason (I dunno why) it was actually on 8-bit color in the game settings... I dunno how it got like that, 'cause it worked fine before and I know I didn't change the settings... Anyways, thanks for the help guys
