Widescreen for gaming?

I use a DELL 2407WFP, ebay.com sells it at $600.

In my experience they are utter shit for gaming, especially if you play older games that do not natively support widescreen resolutions. It just stretches the shit out of the picture, and it looks awful.

The one above lets you maintain 4:3, or stretch to a nasty 16:9, or even have 1:1.

It also has a ton of inputs in the back, i.e. DVI (with HDCP so you could plug a PS3 into it), VGA, Component, S-Video, Composite if you're into that kinda thing.

just remember, LCDs dont display blacks as well as CRTs

This is no exception, but I'd rather trade contrast + response for a big screen without taking half my desk :P
