Help!

Ahoy. My housemate has been trying to play Diablo 2:LoD since he bought his new acer a few days ago. He can't, however. When he starts up the game it says:

Error 22: A critical error has occured while initializing DirectDraw

Funny thing is, he had this SAME problem with his old computer!

What the hell is going on? And how do we fix it?

I updated his directx to 9.0 which should be more than enough.

Type in dxdiag.exe
Run the Direct Draw tests

Probably updating your video card drivers to the latest will get things working again.
