It's funny that you posted that. I had originally bought that memory, and guess what? It was the reason I couldn't load windows.

I don't think you saw the mail-in-rebate that made the memory $34. I have 32 bit vista, no need for the 3.5GB of RAM I would see.

It's 2.66GHz for $540

You could have got the Q6600 for HALF THE PRICE
It's 2.4GHz for $280

A very slight decrease in speed (which will be barely noticeable, and you can overclock the shit out of it anyway (my housemate has his running at 3.2GHz) and it's pretty much half the price.

About time someone asked me about that. I didn't get the Q6700 from newegg. I got a special deal through work, so I paid $275 for vista, a basic intel board and the processor.

Glad it worked out for you, but I didn't like it, so I returned it. I just rolled the dice and took my 2004 HP pc to get fixed and hope that buys me more time. XP is just so much better than Vista, IMO.
