  • Adding Forums to a website

Using Expression Web to create a website for a little thing that i am doing; i'm really learning as i go on. getting to the point, does anyone know how i can add a really basic forum to my site. i've read a bit about phpbb, i was wondering if there is anything better out there. i don't need to have thing like users to be registered, just wondering would an input form be of any use

    Thanks

Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it's not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won't. it's whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.:fear:

What kind of website do you have? Where is it hosted? Does it allow PHP?

If you're wondering what kind of other forums are available, just google for it. Keywords like "simple php forum" would certainly get you in the right direction.

If you want a forum like this one (this one is run by vBulletin which isn't free), phpBB can be the best free forum software for you. Just go to http://www.phpbb.com/ and download the most recent package. Extract it to your website and then configure it. How you should go about installing phpbb, is described at the phpbb website.

Problem with those free services is that you always have problems integrating it with your website. If you have the hosting I would definitely recommend installing a forum yourself.
