  • For you computer builders...upgrading graphics card

My brother recently finished building his dream computer, so he offered me his old computer's graphics card, an Nvidia 8800 Ultra. Right now I have an 8600 GT. When I upgraded to this graphics card, a computer tech guy told me that was the highest I could go until I upgraded my PSU. So I told my brother to give me his old computer's PSU also.

Is there anything else I need for my PC to run smoothly with an 8800 Ultra?

My computer is a Dell, 3 GB Ram, Core 2 duo 2.13 GHZ, lots of HDD space.

For that card, the PSU should be at least 500W. Good card, should last you awhile. I'd also make sure you have enough room in the case.
