So I went on vacation to Minnesota for a few days, get back, and fired everything up. Got assigned a brand new IP because my old awesome assigned IP wasn't active for a few days, yadda yadda whatever. Get this fancy new IP address and now my route to the TW server goes through HopOne again. Which means it's back to playing the game with acceptable ping and ploss times late at night.

So the trick is....go back to Minnesota, then when you get back you'll have a new IP! Maybe that one will work better! Hurray!

Realistically if I'm understanding your issue correctly you can probably just call your ISP service provider and have them assign you a new IP right now. Keep doing it until you get one that works like your old one.

^ Though I've never heard of the IP switch changing your ping in the first place, learn something new everyday.


Random side story:
I randomly started having constant high ploss recently, called my cable provider and told them that I can't play my 2D spaceship game without lagging out, and that i have high ploss.

They checked it over the phone and said they didn't detect very high ploss, but sent out a technician anyways. He checked it w/ his little computer adapter thing. All said and done, they dug up the cable running to my house and replaced it with a new one.

Ploss gone!
