I had a problem where SS would change the default resolution I had set from 1920x1080 to 1600x900 upon exiting out of the game. I would have to manually change the resolution back to 1920x1080 within the game menu every time. Setting the default resolution to 1920x1080 in the profiles did not help at all.
The solution:
Click on "View" and then "Advanced Options..."
Make sure "Show Default Resolutions" is checked.
That should keep the game from changing the resolution. I am not the first person to discover this, but I figured I would make a post about it to prevent further frustration.
