I had to get a new HD today... is there anyway to recover files on my old HD onto my new one?

If the old HDD isn't damaged in any way you can just clone it.

Get norton ghost. It's a program that allows you to clone HDD's and copy images ect.... Its a small program that runs off of a floppy disk.

What you do is connect your new HDD as the Master (on the jumper settings and the cable)

Now connect the old HDD on the secondary cable, or slave on the master cable (also set it to secondary on the jumpers)

Reboot with the floppy disk in the computer. Norton ghost will load up. Find a tutorial on their site for using the program, it's pretty easy to use though.

You could also install your OS on the new HDD, connect the old HDD and transfer files in windows. The jumper settings just need to be set right so it doesn't boot with the wrong HDD.
