Browser Problems

Kay, it has nothing to do with TW, unless your talking some areas of the forum. Im not sure if anyone can help me with this, but my browser is a little fucked up.

After typing in oone URL, if you attemp to type another one in, it will cause an error and close.

sometimes after entering text in a pw message box itl do the safe thing.

The error is in USER.EXE if anyone can help me plz respond, it gets so fucking annoying

what browser are you using?

user.exe ? how exactly do you know that is the root of the problem (or even if that file exists)

the browser is internet explorer 6, an i know user.exe exists cause ive looked it up on my computer and it says the error occured in user.exe and the browser closes..

try pressing ctrl alt delete, go to processes and close user.exe.
i guess ur on xp

heh, well actually, im not on XP :/ im on Windows ME wich i guess makes everything worse... but yah.. lol talk later

UPGRADE NOW. Windows ME is the worst Windows OS ever made due to the lack of security.

Download ZoneAlarm. It's great because you can restrict Internet access to only programs you allow and it displays a message when something is trying to access it.

#2: Click Tools -> Windows Update
Update your drivers, get patches, and pretty much enhance your security.

#3 (Optional)
Get a new browser cuz IE 6 is not that great. Try Opera, Mozilla, or the new MyIE which is IE basically, but a more "enhanced" version with lots of new features yadayadayada.

user.exe is legit

I use it when programming when using certain API calls. As for your browser problem, might want to get SP1 for IE6 or just reinstall it altogether. Also what are you doing when it errors?

Win ME wasn't even a test version, it was crap software that's basically Windows NT for home users. It was the gayest thing ever created. Microsoft was just looking for some extra profit. There are absolutely no security changes from Win NT to it.


Anywoo, ZoneAlarm kicks ass. Nothing beats it. It has only a few vulnerabilities but they're really just minor things. Such as exploits and nmap bypasses. Otherwise, it does it's job well and with a passion.
