Cd burner
Allright, My friend has a Cd Burner on his computer. It isnt reading the cd so he cant burn anything.. Anyone have any clue how to fix this?

Ok first off has he ever been able too burn a cd using it before? Is it new? And here is a silly question - it is a cd Burner - isn't it.
If it has worked before check what type of cd you tryed to use, it may not have been a cd r/rw.

Also... make sur he puts the CD the right way... I bought about 200 CDs and the top looks almost like the botom of the CD. Freaky.

He has had it for a while, It worked perfectly untill a couple weeks ago now he cant burn anything. It doesnt read the disk in the burner. Yes he does have the cds the right way up (lets not be stupid) Please If you have any clue leave something and if you dont.. DONT. Thanks

maybe the jumpers are set to the wrong thingiesComment

This has happened to me a few times.. Turn off the power unplug it and open it up. The cables might have fallen out. There should be an ide chain and a power cord (at least those two should be there, mabye an audio cable).
