HOLY MOTHERFUCKER: Winkbia.exe

WTF IS THIS SHIT? i have windows 2000 and i was experience CPU spikes. i look at the task manager and i see

Winkbia.exe eating up most of my RAM and CPU.

WTF IS THIS SHIT? IS IT A VIRUS? i tried searching it on google and it wouldnt show up. i tried downloading msconfig and try to delete it from startup and it doesnt show up. i tried finding winkbia on my computer and it doesnt show up either. help help help!

So far I have not experienced anything in which this "virus" might have eaten up. I only experience CPU spikes (about every 10-15 secs) and sometimes my black font in windows turns to white. (but in applications only..ie: no buddies visible in the buddy list.) omfg. im fucking mad.

The best advice I can give you is kill the process and see what happens. At worst you need to reboot your system. If it is some kind of virus that you can't purge I recommend downloading an anti-virus program or formatting your hard drive. If worst comes to worst (and you don't want to format to get rid of the bugger) then you'll have to consult the dreaded...Microsoft Technical Support.

its the klez. how can i rid it without deleting files? so far one of the anti-virus programs i downloaded already deleted my microsoft office...

i use ad-aware, it's a good program that cleans your hard drive of such programs (if that is in fact adware)

normally it just cleans the dormant ones, but then sometimes it says it cannot remove them - which means the process is probably active

so i checked the task manager and saw the processes running, ended them, and then ran adaware again and got rid of em

Ok guys. heres the shit. i have found and deleted out of my computer:

I-Worm.Klez.h

and

win32.elkern.c

the klez worm comes from attachments to emails and such and im guessing it was that weird picture of a dragon some freak sent me. ive learned my lesson to not give a shit about what ppl attach to emails now. haha.

anyways, QUICK! download clrav.com and search for viruses inclduing klez and elkern today! they spike ur cpu and mess up ur gaming fun.

get a cleaning device from some random antivirus site. I use grisoft. Probably www.grisoft.com
