Is it safe to delete the reg keys of programs that I don't use / have already uninstalled, using regedit?

Rule of the thumb: If you don't exactly know what you're doing, don't EVER mess around with the Windows registry settings

agreed. stuff you've uninstalled, sure, stuff you just dont use, I'd suggest leaving alone.

How about programs that refuse to uninstall? Can I delete the folders, search for registry entries and delete them all? That's pretty much what uninstall does anyway, right?
