Hey all! It's been what... 15 to 20 years since I played this game in any capacity. I was looking at these "controversies" and have a couple of questions. First for the Jav side... Isn't there a way to show how many TKs a player does? That seems like a vital statistic. I personally wouldn't want to play with someone that TKs a lot and that is something that should be blockable/bannable over time. Obviously, it is impossible to avoid TKs 100% in Javs, but statistics should be able to show trends - especially if those TKs are targeted against specific players.
There appears to be only one arena for wbs and javs... That seems like an important thing to fix. If you have 20+ people wanting to play, you need more than 1 arena to do that. If it is broke, fix it!
Personally, I feel like there is an easy way to fix some of these longer matches. After a certain cut-off point or lack of kills, simply move the players to another part of the map with a smaller map. This reduces the ability to run away and should speed matches up. The community would need to figure out what those cutoffs are and also would need to be careful about warping when opponents were too close (could save someone inadvertently). But instead of just flinging crap around, might want to just see if there is a fair way to handle this!
Everyone has different play styles and some don't mesh well together and cause friction. Squads can plan around this, but random MMR players won't have that luxury and this is going to cause extra stress on the players. It is already difficult enough for teams to play well together that consistently play together, but if you throw in people with random players and then add ratings on top of that, you are going to have a lot more conflict than normal.
I would hope that MMR would also take into account players that end up playing together and stick them together more as that should improve teamwork and speed games up a bit... Even if it did give a small advantage.
