MVP in a timed race game

I'd like to know how in the sam hell you're supposed to get MVP in a bird. I don't know how many games I've played as a basebird where I've gotten at LEAST a half dozen tds and kept between a 1:1 and 2:1 ratio, but I didn't get MVP. If you ask me, a bird that performs like that deserves MVP more than a shark that mined all over the place in fr and probably tk'd as much as he got the enemy.

The bots have been updated now, wbs and javs should be able to get it easier this time. Also as the changes state. TKing sharks get penalised harder.

mvp is all i ever played for. what the hell do i care if my go base team wins? squad basing is a totally different matter of course, but oh my god.. if u arent in it for yourself in go base why are you even there?

I'm not quite sure why you're so rankled.. is it because you now have competition from other ships for MVP.. or is it because you aren't getting the system that you want to see? (the multiple stats thingy)

having fun is "in it for yourself".. i found it fun back in the first 3 or 4 games i ever played, then after that it sucked unless i got mvp. i am rankled because there are people getting mvp who totally dont deserve it now, on multiple levels. like i have said, terrs and sharks already get recognition for simply being a terr or shark.. u dont need some fucking bot telling everyone u owned that game, they already know because you are the terr. now they get even more recognition from an inaccurate portrayal of how well they did.

if you spider and you suck, you arent gonna get picked. therefore every time i spider i have to put my full attention and focus into it and it gets pretty redundant and nerve racking, much more so than any other ship. now i am being told that even though i beat everyone on my team by at least 15 kills, a shark who mined a lot should be honored and my hard work is unrecognized. so now it pays even less to be put in that bitch ship.

As a Hypothetical Example:
Do you honestly think that two people watching a base game, that saw say you.. za gophar kick some ass.. like kick ass in ways that the bot couldn't see.. and then say me (so as not to have to use anyone else's name) .. they saw me as shark.. and I was on crack or something that game, and totally fucked up but got MVP somehow... that the next game... they'd say "oh we want Sar.. he got mvp" and ignore you completely? Be Serious.

What you're saying really doesn't hold a whole lot of water because, if players watched terriers, and sharks without them ever getting mvp, to look for good ones, or be noticed to be able to keep getting picked or whatever.. then... why is so far fetched for people to do the same with spiders/any other ship?

And about sucking as a spider... to be perfectly honest.. I suck with like.. most every other ship other than shark (I like to think I'm decent in that). But there have been several times when I'll pop into a ?go base game to watch, and end up getting subbed in as a spider.. I'm still not entirely sure why... I mean it's embarrassing to actually have a negative rec in a spider.. but still. Would anyone put me in a spider in a league game? Not unless they were high/drunk/ or dying or something.. but ?go base has less stakes than like.. TWLB championships etc.. so seriously.. you should try to chill out a little bit, man.

Shark is being dumbed down to the following:

shark: 0.5(repelsUsed/deaths)points * (.12terr + sum(.06allotherships) - 0.006deaths - (.07(allothershipstks) + .15terrtk + .09sharkTK)))

The kills play less of a factor and I got the repels used working

so if you have
3 per death you get 1.5 bonus to points etc
2 per death you get 1 bonus
1 per death you're points are haved.
0 you just get 0 rating.

but its a double so you can have values inbetween.

So people who like to get mvp and who like to shark check these formulas, and then make sure they repel at least two times even before attaching to terr?

When you get this thing further, I think there should be score from repelled mines, bullets and bombs. Yea, I know this is extra work, because there would have to be all those bullet calculations and such, but I think evaluating shark's skills from these stats is just silly.

The shark is the 2nd most important basing ship next to the terr. If you have semi competent spiders and a good terr and amazing sharks you can win base games.

If you can play the shark well and terr well you should be able to get into any basing squad.

I play them because there's some sort of insane, suicidal, sneaky bastard aspect to playing them well. You need to be willing to die, but not too quickly, and willing to kill, but not too much lest you kill your team. Unless there's a way to count reps/death I don't know how you'd go about quantifying a shark's performance...

But, sorry for my post, I didn't really come to a conclusion at all. I really have no idea how to judge a shark's performance based on statistics, because you really can't. That also means, that you can't compare the shark to the other ships around it.

I guess what I'm trying to say, and I think terrs/javs/wbs will back me up on this, each ship is its own world. All ships work together as a team, but not one ship has the same role as the next. To compare these ships together with any sort of statistic is like (insert insightful metaphor here), you know what I mean.

Once again, I come to no conclusion of what to do, or any suggestion, and I'm sorry... I'll leave this up to the brilliant minds out there that help and run this league.
