Challenge System

I think it would be way cool if squads that are online would submit that they want to play a dd to a bot. Then, whenever someone else submits that they want to play, it will auto match them/auto except for them. That way, you don't have squads just fighting easy squads in order to make it into TWL. The squads challenge should probably last about 3 minutes or so, but I think it would be a much better challenge system. They could also setup if they want it to be 4 on 4 or 5 on 5, so there won't be any lame cheating by other squads by putting in a 5th when its 4 on 4... So if a squad thats wants 4 on 4 fights with a squad that wants 5 on 5, it should probably default to 4 on 4.

I like the idea. Challenging can be really annoying, especially with the message limit.
Just a lil tweaking and you got a really nice challenging system.

Well they would have to leave the option to challenge the old fashioned way, because some squads don't like to play each other and things like that.

The only reason ppl would have to not like playing each other is due to ppl exploiting bugs... If nothing can be used to cheat, then they have no reason not to play somoene (especially if both are twl squads, since they will be forced to play anyway)

If they just dont like the other squad in general, just do ?nopubchat and start adding people to your ignore.txt. Problem solved.

ya i like this idea too..but they should remove the old challenging system..but instead add a feature that only lets u play 5 ranks above u and 5 ranks below u...but not now..since nobody rly trys in twd...start it this way when twd matters again'

I would say, to have a mass !challenge option. like !mchallenge to challenge ALL squads registered?

Instead of issuing all the challenges like that, it would be cool if we could do something like:

!challenge shriek,syndicate,-final-,grapevine,whiterabbits,etc.

And maybe do up to like 10.

Well the whole idea is to get away from challenging on a per squad basis because squads can just fight bad squads and sneak into twl, which only hurts twl as a whole.

I don't like MK's idea if it implys being forced to play newbie squads and not being able to challenge a specific squad. However, a system where you could submit a command to enter yourself into the system to play the next squad that does the same would be nice.

Fits idea of the challenging a list of squads at once so you don't get rate limited I like.

i agree with code. i dont like the idea of having to play a bad squad if its just not even fun for a better squad.

i would prefer if you could do something like the following

and also, when someone else added their squad, it'd be like ElimAlert/BElimAlert/BaseAlert, etc... all squads listed on their would be notified when another squad added their name to the list. so like if AnZu added Sk8 to that list, all of those squads would be pm'd with the following

(TWDBot0)> Sk8 has been added to the active TWDD squads list.

Seems like an easy bot to make, hell i may even try if nothing gets done in the next 6 to 10 months. probably wouldn't take long to do for a bot programmer.

I realize the point was to make it so you can't lame your way into TWL, but this isn't a very good way of doing it. It's obvious that there would have to be some kind of safeguard against having to play games that you really don't want to play, otherwise it's almost a 180 degree turn on the way some squads refuse to play the "better" squads. As an example, say Spastic is looking for a TWBD game. We would rather play a decent team, instead of having a really low ranked and horrible squad like -No//Fear- making us play them for a 15 minute bore-fest.

Maybe it would work if you had a lot of squads willing to play and registered in the bot, and then the bot matched you up with the closest ranked squad that also wants to play. But that still leaves you with the problem of sometimes having to play boring games and also having no way of playing a specific squad if you really wanted to.
