When is the rating thing going to be fixed if ever?

It's Still broken, how can a shark who has a decent game still get a -10K rating... fix it or use the system TWL manager uses. Like the points earned or some shit.

Yes the shark MVP formula is fucked up and it has been for a long time. The only way a shark can get MVP is if they get some kind of absurd record like 35 kills and 25 deaths with low (2-3) tks.

maybe it's not the formula that is messed up. . . it's a shark. it pushes bad guys away. . . a glorified magnet. . . if it didn't have another shark on it's team, it would be useless. . .

sharks don't have weapons so that nobody will use them. maybe you sharks (whoever you are) should rethink how you play the game and go out and get some kills and mvp!!!

That's another issue altogether, but the fact is that the shark formula seriously IS broken. I think there might be something wrong with the way it calculates it or uses the stats that the bot records for MVP calculation. It's possibly related to the "repelsUsed" which counts how many repels you use. Another big part is that bot definately is penalizing way too heavily for deaths for sharks.

Necromotic played a shark, and got a 36-62 record with 4 tks and 2 terrkills. He ended up with a -13,000 rating on the bot. A shark isn't going to get a positive record and low tks unless it is a total blowout game. The formula definately needs to chill out a bit on penalizing for deaths, maybe give a bit of a boost for kills, and penalize a bit more for teamkills.

The way the formula is, it's rare for a shark to even have a positive MVP rating, let alone GET the MVP. I will go as far as to say that the only way a shark can get MVP is if the opposing team is a bunch of fucking clowns and repeatedly ram into your mines over and over and you don't die a lot.

In my opinion, a shark is too passive of a ship in a full-scale ship rumble to be fun for basing. In my opinion, they should give sharks one repel each, and have their bomb attacks use half the energy required, while delaying the time between 2 shots to 1 second so they can't stack 2 shots. Also, the bomb should do very little damage but in a small range from lets say 200-300 max. But make the stun last for a long time.

The shark practically can't get mvp. Its formula is broken and yes no one is there who wants to put the time in to fix the formula. That doesn't mean the system doesn't work. Look you actually have different ships sorta getting MVPs now instead of same ole same o.e. I think the sharks + wb + jav needs some working on but I don't have the time to do it at the moment nor have access to the code from here.

P.S. When was the last time the shark was able to get MVP before?

I would be willing to try fixing the shark formula if I had access to it. I was looking at the MVP module a while ago and although I don't have much java experience, I think it would be easy enough to change the formulas.

the point isn't really about getting a shark MVP it's about fixing the broken formula, a shark that gets 30 kills and 60 deaths and 4 tks and 4 terrkills still gets a -10k rating...

i think killing the enemy terr 4 times is worth more than tking 4 spiders over a 20 minute game

i'd love to help tweak the shark formula, but it's hard.

Here's what i say:

minimum penalty for deaths
a lot of points for killing the terr
decent amount of points for killing anything
big penalty for tking
and points for flag touches

i'll work it into a formula later. I hafta shower.
