i agree with everything that king baba said in his first post, assistant positions should be handed to the right players in the sqd ie active or more skillfull players.

i dunno about it being unlimited, but i would support the limit being raised to 8.

I don't see the point of a limit. Squad caps can set their own limit. If some squads want more assistants than others it's their choice. Having more assistants does no harm.

that's a good point, but at the same time a limit forces the captains to actually give assistancy some thought, and actually place some some of the more responsable people.

and it is also often considered a reward or a bit of a position of power/respect, even if to a lesser degree.

It also reduces incidents of abuse. However, I see nothing wrong with unlimited assistancy's since its at the captains discretion, and therefore they carry the burden or responsability as to whom they give assistancy to.

Perhaps a good start would be 8, then maybe at a later date, if deemed okay, unlimited?

8 should be enough to make sure anytime 4 people are on they can dd/jd/bd. Although unlimited is fine as well.

But definitely more is better. Even with 5 assistants and 3 captains you can find yourself unable to dd.

Think of it this way, if a captain doesn't give it enough thought their team will lose games. If a captain is dumb enough to give assitants out to anyone on his squad (or to have people on his squad who couldn't handle being assistants) he deserved to lose a few games. He will then learn to limit himself.

Personally I don't imagine a squad would ever need more than 15 assistants. So maybe rather than setting lower limits, set this higher limit to stop excessive promotions which we know will definately cause problems for the squad concerned. Rather than actually limiting the captain, this is more of a loose limit to stop caps participating in "silly moments".

While i'm onto the subject of caps, I believe the current cap limit is 3, maybe theres a possibility of increasing that too?

Voted Unlimited bc id ont see what it will hurt. The captains still have to give it to the ppl. If they dont trust a person, or dont want everyone to have (A) then they dont give it to them. Its not like they'll automaticaly get (A) when they join roster.

no, you need more than one person able to accept others on roster.

what they SHOULD do is create 3 ranks:

Owner
Captain
Assistant

Owner has all the current captain power

Captains can only accept players (NOT kick them), demote/promote assistants, and can no longer demote fellow captains.

Assistants remain the same.

That's why you only let people you trust immensly be captains.

I'd probably be more inclined to say unlimited. This gives captains more control of how they want their squads to be operated. If everyone on the squad is real tight together (as a lot of the pallies are, for example), I think it would be cool to have everyone able to perform those mundane tasks of setting up matches. And that way you're never stuck with 8 people on and no asst. I also think the unlimited captains thing would be cool. I can picture nearly communal squads coming about in response to that kind of thing

Well I can see one reason why it has to be limited. The more asscaps you have the more likely one will go renegade at some point if they get pissed or something and just challenge everyone and make u lose ladder points or something. That in itself might hurt a squad enough that it would dissolve depending on situation. So yes limit needed but I think limit should be raised to 8.

TWD OPS TEST IT OUT FIRST!!! (Assistant Cap Limit)

Being an assistant captain is a privilege and you shouldn't be able to have 30 assistant captains. In doing that you are destroying the reason you have people as assistant captains. I think one of the best uses for assistant captain is for recruiting: I recruit people saying i'll give you assistant captain if you join PUMA, and if we make it so everyone can be one the will say, "no" I can be assistant captain here. Also you want assistant captains that you can trust, and because of the limit you have to spend time thinking about who you make assistant captain. Because there are a lot of cockface's out there that will just go out and challenge all of tw when you have a crappy lineup on or they just want to fuck up your squad and feed other squads with points. I think raising the assistant captain limit to about 8 for now would make a tremendous difference 10 or unlimited. Before you twd ops make a stupid decision at least test it out and see how it goes with 8 before making it unlimited.

If we have unlimited assistant captains then you will start seeing much more idiots going and feeding squads with points and everything is going to get fucked up. DO NOT MAKE ASSISTANT CAPTAINS UNLIMITED THEY ARE SPECIAL AND FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE IF YOU MAKE IT UNLIMITED WHOLE SQUADS WILL START HARRASSING CAPTAINS FOR IT AND THAT IS SOMETHING I DON'T WANT.
