Hopefully this isn't implemented in twd (+1 death on lagout). You can't expect connections to be stable all the time. This is an internet game after all. People play this from different places and thus have different lags. It can't be without lag. A small spike could ruin the whole match.

Rather adjust the laglimits a bit. So that players will lagout faster and are out of the game after a while.

No matter how you look at it, both ways are more or less unfair to certain players but that +1 death is just way more idiotic. You're killing the fun and certain players can't play at all anymore because they now risk losing the match for their squad because of the extra deaths.

If it is possible to separate between an player speccing/quitting and a real lagout. Then it would be fine and you could give the speccer/quitter +1 death but not from a real lagout.

And why are stats needed for wbduel/base and whatnot?

IMO almost all of the recent changes in TW have made it worse. Some of these changes are turning this game into something too serious (for a game) and killing the fun.

I didnt need to put forth any 'arguments'. There was already a huge thread about this issue and staff found that it was in the public's general interest to give -1 to a speccer, and I was merely thanking them for doing so.
