Should TWSD just become TWFD?

I created this thread to make this idea clearer, and hopefully the people behind twsd might take this into consideration.

I think twsd shouldn't just exclusively have spiders, it should allow a wider selection of ships.

The league(web side) and bot development is all done, with some slight modifications we can rename twsd and make something more fun and interesting.

TWFD (Fighter Division)
ships allowed -> Lancaster, Spider, or Warbird
In any combination out of 5 slots.

Or another idea is to have TWED (Every Ship Division)
All ships allowed in any combination out of 5 slots or even have upto 8vs8 matches. Basically TWBD turn into non-capture the flag; a free for all ship deathmatch.

This way, once and for all the 4th league will encompass all ships; therefore people who want to see other ships have their own league will be satisfied.

Plus a wide variety of tactics/stratagies could be possible and would be interesting to see what different squads could come up with in a league like this.

No, if a squad wants to win it'll just play all wb.

5 or 8 wb's vs.5 or 8 lancs, wb would come out trumps.

Well in ELIM FIGHTER match, sometimes other ships do good.

Plus it wouldn't be completely open space arena.

Do you know for certain that all warbirds lineup would dominate?

Many factors involved depends who is playing and what their ship expertise is.

Also to eliminate the All Warbird lineup, then just limit the # of same ship types on lineup. Like say you can only have max of 2 or 3 warbirds.

My post is just a general idea, I'm sure it could be tweaked to perfection to make sure it works well.

The idea of the divisions is to face each other on equal footing as far as settings go, the rest is skill, tactics/anything else but cheating... A fighter division just doesn't look like it would be very competitive or work out the way elim does.. everyone using different ships. It would also end up being all warbirds because a good WB can take down and dodge a lanc in open space, they can also own spiders easily. I like spider dueling, I know a lot of duelers don't so don't play it. It really isn't as easy as basing and with map updates will be a lot better.

Yeah i love twsd... i just wanted to see spidduel hosted more frequently so i to could perfect my spiddueling skills :greedy: wich are few or none oh and my lag also doesn't help...

I think it should stay spider only to avoid all the mess... i like twsd the way it is! save the map...

If you read my last reply, I said limit the # of sameships used in a match. All warbird lineup situation wouldn't exist so your arguement is invalid and too generalized.

And part of the fun would be to see which multiship combination is the most effective for your squad and the many diverse tactics that could be divised.

Also you say its like ELIM, well not exactly, only similiarity is having different shiptypes in a dueling match.

Though this thread is young, and others may like this idea once they carefully understand it. It's not just my idea, I'm sure others mentioned it over the years.

Why is spider chosen over lancaster? Higher spider population compared with lancaster, I guess. But we all seen a recent rise in lancaster population in pubs/basing.

Other ships were not consider because.. people pushed for a spider division, not just another dueling division. The Lanc in my opinion is too new right now to be used in a dueling division, the settings are months old and people have wanted spider dueling for a long time. Even with ship limits you're still going to have the majority of squads using warbirds to carry a team, lancs and spiders would be novelty ships at best in this. The leauge would lose focus, it would be seen as uncompeitive and a waste of time within a month. It would not be a real division.

You should read what I type thoroughly before you assume things about what I'm trying say on here.

**If you limit the number of same shiptypes on a 5 slot lineup then it could never become a twdd league with another name and lose the main focus.

The whole point to this idea is to duel with a variety of fighter ships with a forced diversity of ship types.

This whole thread is stupid and its a stupid idea. Although Zei came onto something worth atleast a little bit of time.

I dont understand why u would have a WB in the spider/lanc dueling thing. I mean WB already has a league of its own. Spider and lanc both dont.

I like the new TWSD thing. I think its fun and differnt. As of now i think we should maybe consider seeing this in TWL someday soon? We should of always had a spider league. PPl been saying this for years.

As said, wb's already have their own league, and with spiders/lanc on the same league with them, it just wouldnt work.

If it would be like that, Lanc's (If used properly) could just shoot the enemy almost with one bullet, because spider needs to shoot 3-4 shots before it kills someone, wb's use almost all their energy into one shot. Lanc's again shoot once, and people lose half health, and with multifire in a league where people team, it would hit most probably into someone.

There's really no point to put lanc/spiders/wb's into same league, and since lanc's settings as said, are a bit new, there's no point to put them in a league yet.

Spiders have been waited for a long time to become a league, and now it has happened.

Give people time to get used to spider league, and maybe one day they will request lanc/lanc&spid league to be added into TW.

When was the last time anyone saw a lanc or spider win an any ship elim?

Kolar pretty much hit the nail on the head. It wouldn't be seen as a prestigious league in the sense that base, javs, and birds are.
