  • JD Zero Tolerance Policing of baseline

Crossing the baseline in a JD used to be a relativly safe thing to do for brief periods of time say a few seconds. And the bot even used to give you a warning before speccing you.

Now however theres seems to be a new Zero Tolerance approach taken by the bots. They pwn you for crossing for even a second -_- . This makes the end game in JD now drags on... and.... on... and.....on........untill ya throw yaself accross the line with sheer bordem to end your pain.......

Can anyone explain the idea behind this new approach. As no one seemed to get spawned from javs in base before this system.....

I don't know why they still have this, as it should've been replaced by the +1 death rule implemented into last TWL. However, the line is there so that people don't have a lot of area to run with in the situation where they are outnumbered. So games would end faster, not what you're saying there.

this doesnt apply to people who are going to base as they have yet to cross the line thats the problem......they can run for ages and ages outside of base yet as soon as one of the javs in base crosses the line they are out.

Only saying this as was 4v1 in a jd we almost lost it when 3 people got specs after crossing the line for a second. Even though the jav that was outside of base had been there for at least 15 seconds or more.

It used to possible to go out of base for longer periods what happened to that?

After you spawn and don't move to base, it warns when you have 15 (or 10) secs left to pass that line.

I know but sometimes people can hang around after spawning for a very long time out of base without being specced :P

Let them hang around there then, he'll come up eventually. If he's playing just time, he can go to the bottom of the whole arena. If you're saying the people who went to base should be given enough time outside they can go to the bottom wall to kill someone, you're very wrong. If it's 1v4 you will most likely win anyways. (as long as your whole team doesn't go across the line :P)

nah its boring because you leave the base line for 1 second and you die

and when its 4v1 at the end and ya trying to finish a round you fall asleep with bordem cos u cant got down even a little for a quick kill

instead each of the last 5 lives of person is strungeout for for eternity.... I think you should get a warning at least before u get speced

And how quick would that be? Do you think they should be given enough time to go to spawn area and then back? I think not.

If the bot has figured out you crossed past the line into base.. then you cross back to the spawn area a minute later it will spectate you. If you take your time when flying INTO the base it will give you 15 seconds.. But when you are already in not much to say

When u respawn in spawn area u get 30 seconds to get into base. When half of that time is passed it reminds you that you have to go to base. This 30 seconds are made to let people get into base from spawn area. The zero tolerance removing when u've been inside base for a while is made so people cannot go to spawn point and just sit there spawning.

                          End.

Hey i have no problems with that but why was it changed because you used to be able to cross the line for longer and not get speced....also some people can cross the line longer from base and not get speced wheras others cross for a second and get speced. The behavior is inconsitant.

the Inconsistancy is due to lag, we can't fix that. You can't cross the line, end of story. The fighting is meant to be in the base not the boarder to tag the people in open air.
