  • Poll: TWJD warp rule unfair?

    Hi, i did a thread about this rule few days ago and now im doing a poll.

    Here's the situation, Bot specs you immediatly if you hit insert and warp and you'll get removed from the game. What i think that it's unfair and it should be changed to that you only get a death from it if you warp.

    I understand why it is to set that you'll get specced, it's because if a bomb is going to hit to you and you see it, you could just warp and not get a death but now instead you'll get a death, you will get 10 deaths to your statics and removed from the game. Even if you're 0-0. How unfair is that?

    What i recommend is that when you warp you will get a death, it will be much more pleasant and you still cant warp away from bombs. well you can but you will get that death.

    I'm hoping that you guys really read this and do not say "stop warping newb!" because this rule that is active at the moment just sucks... accidents happens and when they do happen, twlj and twjd games are screwed.

    it doesn't seem easy to just hit the insert button to warp...unless you changed the keys i don't see how it's really a problem. what's the difference between dying and warping and getting a death? just die from the bomb?

      Warping Should Be Alowed In Jd!!
      Using Shift+end Isnt Hard!
      If U Dont Use Antiwarp,its Your Mistake,and The Enemy Will Have Chance To Warp When He Gets In A Bad Situation.

        Pascone, the difference is that if you were warping because bomb was going to hit to you then you would still get that death from it. this new rule would be good for them that accidents hits their insert button.

        For those who are saying that change insert key. I dont want to leave the game for just change the key and then when you base or do something else you'll need to exit again and change it back.

        This new rule cant do any damage to twjd or to twjl, it'll be a better choice and more fair.

        if someone can think that why this rule would be far more worst, please comment.

          i never had the problem of accidental warp

          if you know you lose if you warp why keep your finger anywhere near it...also many times anti warp is on

              If you can't avoid the warp key that's your fault, and lobbying for a rule change because of a supposed freak incident with your cat is just asinine.

                  yeah, I have to agree with Mega Newbie here. Why do the ships have antiwarp if its not meant to be used? As I see it, anti-warp is a strategy call. If you have it on, then your opponent cant warp out, but neither can you, so if you turn it on, then you are betting that you wont need to warp out at some point. If there is a squad playing that doesnt want their opponents warping, all they have to do is remember to set their antiwarp. I dont think you should get a death or specced for that. Now if antiwarp wasnt provided to all ships, that would be a different story, but if it is, then having a warp rule is just silly as far as I can tell. If there is another good reason for it, pls post cause I am curious.

                    Insert is 1cm away from | -> | key. so accidents happens, not everyone remembers to put num lock on or wants to change his/her key defs...

                    i'd like to hear a comment that why "warp = death" would be so bad idea.

                      What about if say someone is near you, and a bomb is coming straight for you, you could warp out of the way of a 2fer and save the person on your teams death. I think that the warp rule should be 2 deaths

                          By that logic, you might prevent a 5fer by warping, then shouldn't it be worth 5 deaths?
                          People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."

                            But obviously the likelihood of that happening is so low we should exclude it from the equation.

                            BTW, i've rarely seen anyone "accidently" hit the warp key to get removed, but by crossing the line accidently or not going to base seem to be more popular.

                              Your just stupid if you accidently hit the warp-key.
                              But I agree that removal from the game is a bit too much. Warping can avoid a 5fer so the penalty should be +5 deaths.
