Lag Squads

Why is TWD letting so many lag squads play? It is so obvious that these people are doing it on purpose thru whatever means. For instance, half the people on Quicksand have horrific lag. Now, if the TWD lag settings are relaxed and the TWL lag restrictions are very tight, then you need to use TWL Lag settings when the TWL qualifiying takes place. Otherwise, squads will cheat during TWD and screw the whole thing up.

I don't know the full story (and I wish someone would tell me) but there's some server en route to the Uk that keeps crashing (or so I'm told).

My lag has been whacked for days now.. average used to be 90 ms now if i'm lucky i have 150 ms but i guess my averige is closer too 200

But afaik there are indeed some problems with the connection from europe to the server.

It's not just Europe. My ping to TW (as well as 17th Parallel) has been jumping from the normal 40-60ms range to over 400ms. I don't know what's going on, but it's bullshit.

If you look as example Disliked's reply, you see that the problem is caused by server or routers - not players. Even you had people lagging out yesterday - 2 of your guys in 1st round had 3 lagouts and one in 2nd. So it's not just us.

As for our usual lag, we have two guys with over 200ms. About 80% of us have their ping under 100ms.

I still think Cloth's spiking every ~1 minute isn't normal but I guess staff thinks it is.

because the server is a piece of shit.

PING Current:50 ms Average:85 ms Low:10 ms High:390 ms

thats after Session Usage: 1 hours 29 minutes and nothing using up my bandwidth. Obviously the server has been really fucked lately. I ran trace several times during the lag and sometimes I go through hopone.net, others its some lagass opentransit.net that Ive never even seen before. I dont see why you even whine at that since all me going from ~30 ms to 300+ ms does is make me not be able to hit shit and then lagout from med spike. Oh, and dont forget that when one player on squad gets this lag we all get it for some reason..and usually the other team has some that can stay in.

EDIT: have you ever watched cloth play? ROFL talk about unnatural lag. whine at people who actually cheat. Maybe I'll tell a mod i have a weak connection then start pulling my cord in matches

In every other game i play other then SS, my lag is fine. i use a cable hi - speed connection. in SS, however, every time i play i get huge spikes, and that has been going on constantly for some time, so i dont even know if ill be able to play next TWL. the point is, that the cause of lag for me is probably the shitty server in SS, cuz my ping usually jumps from 50 to something like 400.

You can definately have a poor ISP, as well. I usually average a 80-90 ping range, and lately I've been getting into the 190-200s.
