Okay guys dont jump at my throats when i ask this question or call me noob :P. But why cant we ban isp adresses? Im at a loss obviously, but i was wondering if the tw server can recognize IP's? If so, i wounder, why not filter the cheaters IP address, it would be the same thing when we register our e-mail address, make everyone register their IP? Its just a question i dont have a hold on, any input would help, thanks.

When you have the "thing" done I say unban everyone and then start banning those who cheat again

Take this information with a pinch of salt, I'm not an expert.

First off, an ISP ban would mean banning everyone who is using a particular ISP such as verizon, comcast ect.. this is not possible for obvious reasons (ie. millions of people use these services)

Banning an IP, which is supposed to be a unique address assigned to a particular user is possible. The ban system that is used in SSC zones bans by IP among other things such as machine IDs (MID).

We do ban people every day fait, by IP and MID. The problem isn't banning the cheaters, it's catching them. Obviously if we started banning everyone the staff or you "think" is cheating there would be problems. What we are in need of is a better way of detecting cheaters. I think all the zones are at a complete loss right now in regards to solving that problem.

misstype weave, i mean ip not isp :P. I dont know how you would deal with cheaters, my only suggestion is to send e-mails to other online gaming support teams and ask how they handle it, just a thot. Thanks
