Although this doesnt happen often, why isnt overtime sudden death? Makes perfect sense that if the score is 46-46 going in that you shouldnt have to suffer through one person killing then running another 5 minutes

Or was it so random? I think Izor was plotting this one for a while.
Actually sounds like a decent idea to me though. If a team can't put it away in regulation time, spice it up a bit. But then, of course, it would increase people running in the instance where Player A has 5 deaths left and Player B has 2, with 5 minutes left. Player B could just run the clock out until OT, but of course, Player A's job would be to kill the bastard before time runs out..
A good thought (however random) but I could see it giving people another reason to bitch.Save a tree; eat a beaver

Sounds like a reasonable idea, but it will change the dynamics of play drastically when it comes to close endgames that are 1 vs 2+, making things much easier for the one player to handle. That one player will simply run until OT and all he/she has to do is make a single kill.
If anything, in those cases, the chasers will be *much* more cautious, and the one player far more likely to run the clock into overtime, so it could actually lengthen the 'boring' endgames rather than shorten them.Fusha> Let's cyber! ^.^

Sudden death is a good idea, but why would u still need the timer on after the main time runs out.1:Da1andonly> korven plays subspace from a 1978 microwave
Grab a piece of paper. Place a dot in the middle of it. Draw a small circle around the dot, and leave the rest open. The dot represents your knowledge. It's what you know. It is the limit of your mind's capacity. The circle around the dot is everything that you don't know - but you know that it exists. And the rest of the paper is everything that you didn't even know that you'd never know - that exists or has the potential to exist.

uhhhh... good point.
i guess the only reason it would be at all necessary (and this is a stretch) is maybe for stats purposes? for instance, if someone wanted to look up in the stats that such and such twld match went into triple sudden death OT.
i'm so used to sports that i just immediately threw a timer into the mix, heh.jasonofabitch loves!!!!

Not a good idea. If the score is tied 46-46.....you should play it out entirely. Anyone can get lucky once with their opponent having a bad shot and you taking advantage. To play it out will show who the real best player is. And if it goes down to 49-49....well then theres your sudden death.
Every player gets 10 deaths in the rule book. I don't see how you can "cheat" a player of those 10 deaths according to the rule book, so this thread is kinda dumb sorry to say <_<lol GA trying to make a joke:

I think the "real best player" will win anyway. What's the sense of playing if you're not going to try to win? lol
I can see how it would be considered cheating a playe rout of 10 deaths, but you have to think, a DD goes for what, 20 minutes I think? I dunno, but anyway, to go that long is a very long game, so why not make "staying alive" too long have a consequence (having 1 life after regulation) just like dying too quickly (...obviously being eliminated).
That might sound a bit confusing, but basically if someone runs the whole match waiting for OT they're not going to get a lot of kills. Maybe after regulation time all players who are still in get 2 lives, just to make it interesting? This would encourage the teams to eliminate the other players before OT starts, and would add a bit of fairness to an evenly matched game (assuming going to OT means the teams are well-matched).
I could be rambling nonsense here, lol, but it's actually not a bad idea.Save a tree; eat a beaver

Not a bad idea Izor, actually not bad at all. Just one problem, and something you shuld think about:
Let's say your rules or idea is put into effect. You are in a dd, QS against X (whoever)
It's down to the 45-45, and the time runs out, and it's time for... SUDDEN DEATH (OMG OMG)
So let's say you are playing against a guy who started playing the game yesterday, and he just shoots your ass, or you get strayed by him.
It's obvious you have more experience and are better than a player who started playing yesterday, (fgs I think that might be true... Ill have to double check) but you just lost it from a "lucky" shot.
I can picture it now:
Izor> ROFL
Izor> Fucking lame sudden wow
Izor> loool noobed
Izor> FUCKING CE LMAO
All Of QS> ROFL!! WOW ROFL stupid shitty Sudden Death, fucking stupid TW
Well you get my point..
Not too bad of an idea.. jsut a time saver, and a bit** creator.
Afk

uhhhhh, whatever you say i guess. i dont think i need to go into how improbable it is that we'd be 45-45 going into OT with someone who just started playing yesterday.
next time i am 46-45 on you, im going to just run out the clock so i can get a log of my own:

I'd have to COMPLETELY disagree with u killer :\
There's no such thing as luck or stray in a duel. If you truly know how to duel, you will adjust to your opponent's playing style to suit yourself for a win. If you die to the person he's simply better!1:Da1andonly> korven plays subspace from a 1978 microwave
