Okay, well, I was kinda just bullshitting to keep everyone together in hopes that Pure_Luck might actually restore the squad roster, but it's not going to happen. The squad is done... for now, anyway.

It was just time. November would have marked year 7 of the squad in it's current form, playing in TWD/TWL, and that's a pretty fucking long time. We were suffering badly in activity of our core players, the field of basing players grows smaller by the year, and for whatever reason people don't want to join old squads. People kept leaving or slowly quit playing and no one would be there to fill their spot. There was a good chance that we weren't even going to make it into TWL, and dissolving was partly because we didn't want to screw our loyal players over. This was going to happen sooner or later; it was inevitable. I'm just glad it happened early enough that everyone can find themselves a new squad before TWL, and that we pulled the plug now rather than struggle through what would most likely be a final, pathetic TWL season.

I have no doubt that this was one of the most fun and chill squads there has ever been, and I would have never stayed on it this long if it wasn't. Most of our players weren't annoying to be on a squad chat with (and that's saying something), and the ones that were didn't last long. There were some emo times, but mostly the squad wasn't hardcore serious about things. We'd have our ups and downs but shit always worked out. PL was the one that held shit together most of the time, and he's probably the main reason why the squad lasted as long as it did. A lot of people give him shit, but you can't say he's not a good squad captain. Other than that, I'm not going to name names, but if you were on Spastic for any length of time you're probably a cool person.

Anyway... it's been fun. I always thought I'd be on the squad until I quit this game or it (or myself) died. It feels weird as hell to not be on Spastic anymore, but I look forward to playing with a new squad. Hell, it'll probably renew my interest in TWD/TWL again.

Gotta admit was a nice run for spastic... ppl like jamal p_l stabwound who pretty much played every season since they came around... won 1 lb? Somethin alot of squads cant say.. also was always competative, and always was a hard game vs stab/ph.... the last few seasons seemed liek you's werent into it as much, so maybe its not a bad thing to end it on a decent note

what if everyone posts their useless non entertaining sob story when their squad dies? i'm pretty sure everyone can relate the same 2d asteroid feelings to atleast one squad that has died. the forum would be packed with some story only a fraction of tw population understands, or gives a shit about.

kudos for keeping it alive for a long time though, not many squads are able to do that.

Most people don't hop nearly as often as you do, so when a squad they've been on for years straight goes - yeah it's kinda worth a forum post and a few words. Asshat.

Props to Spastic, and their intensely loyal core. Good run, and best of luck to all it's players going to other squads. Still remember you guys giving Defiancy props for getting 5 minutes on you in LB when everyone was convinced it was going to be a shutout. I had a really fun time in my 5 years with Spastic. Unfortunately I sort of stopped playing really at all a few years ago, which I feel bad about because I wish I could have contributed more to the performance of my squad. It was nice being on a strong squad like Spastic for so long because of its core (which I was lucky enough to become a part of in my own way).

Jamal, Stab, and PL were all 3 great captains that all wanted squad success first and and foremost - which is kind of rare in a game where squads come and go, usually around the same people, just because some random good player believes he can get together more good people to win than the squad he's currently on. Like Stab said, PL takes a lot of shit but he's given a lot to this game and to his squad despite having a busy personal and work life, so props to him for caring more about this game than just "winning every TWL game 4v5."

If you know Jamal, Stab, or PL then you know that its their personalities, along with a few other core members, that kept the squad going. Hell, I don't even play anymore but I enjoy logging on enough because the squad chat was usually kept interesting.

So yeah Jones, I'm emo enough to write a post about a squad I'm sad to see go. It's a forum, just don't click on threads you don't want to read.

good game spastic. i certainly had my disagreements with several spastic members over the years, but that's water under the bridge. besides, who can fault a squad that sticks it out 5+ years. great run, and i hope to see some of you sticking around on other squads. just do us all a favor and don't jump to dice or thunder or some other powerhouse squad. spread around to some of the lesser squads, and hopefully we'll see a bit more parity this season of twl.
