TWD is the league that drives the community to make squads, compete, have fun, and the activity in TWD is key.

When TWL starts, most TWD squads disappear.

When TWDT runs (Sunday nights) there is no TWD.

With TWDT you get to play with people you've never played with before which, at times, makes it a fun experience. Would be nice to have TWD running during TWDT, though.

With TWL...BBOORRIINNGG. I leave my TWL squad almost every year simply because I cannot take the inactivity throughout the week and look to join an active TWD squad. People showing on Sunday's only. There's no fun competition during the week. Which is why there needs to be something invented during TWL for TWD, maybe some sort of recognition for squads that win their respective TWD ladder. This past season there was 4 active squads during TWL during the weak. Potenza and 3 squads not in TWL.

people only create twd squads to compete in TWL. only a few newb squads are formed that have no intention of playing twl and they are never stable. it is really easy now to qualify for twl so there is hardly any activity or competition for twd. if you change that then you may see increased activity for twd. so basically you need a competitive qualifying system for twl to create more activity in twd but you need a larger population and interest to create more twd squads which would make the twl qualifying system more competitive. its just a vicious cycle we are stuck in.

twdt is just a joke. the rankings are the only fun part about it. twdt was supposedly created to help newer players transition into twl but that never seems to happen because of nerd vets.

I’ve been preaching to consolidate/reorganize the various leagues for several years to no avail.

TWDT is the worse, as mentioned it was originally meant to be a stepping stone for newer players to get league type experience. It often starts the season with rosters full of vets who often play as the newer players ride the bench. Many players exhibit a ‘I don’t really give a shit about this attitude’ and it always seems that squads end up having to forfeit games towards the end of the season. But worse of all, it crushes chances of organizing TWD games on one of the only two days to really get in any players or competition online.

The practice of dividing up the TW population pie into ever smaller pieces needs top cease. While dividing up the population might have worked 10 years ago when TW was more popular was feasible it currently creates unneeded competition between ‘features’ (leagues/arenas/events). TW should be figuring out which ‘features’ are its core competencies and concentrate on them. This might be a form of consolidation, some might need to be dropped altogether, or there may be some scheduling ways to allow some to co-exist.

The ‘be all things to all people’ thinking stands in direct opposition to what TW should be currently doing. This is true whether we are discussing Pub 0, leagues, events, or ships. Given the decreasing population and staff, there is only so much that can be offered correctly. It is like a corner ‘Mom and Pop’ store trying to carry all the products that a large grocery store carries. It is not easy to walk away from the way things have previously been done or those that have a small but loyal group of players. It takes leadership with vision, commitment, courage, and a ‘top down’ view of things. Time will quickly reveal to us all if the current TW leaders will meet this criteria.

This is another one of those dont open your mouth moments as that is incorrect. As with TWL bots are shutdown to avoid inadvertently crashing the bots hosting the league. In this case matchbots that are spawned manually with twd online when they get !locked into arenas tend to crash out twd entirely.
