TWDT semifinals predictions
Our semifinalists are finally declared, so let's see who are the favorites going into Sundays semifinals.
WB
npcs vs Haze
So NPCSs have selected Haze as their opponent, considering them the weakest of all, but in reality, wb has been pretty much wide open since r1 with surprise results coming in every week.
Main season:
NPCSs season has been pretty rollercoaster, winning first 2 games, then losing 2, then winning 2 again and going 1-1 in last 2 weekends. Haze started off strong, winning first 2 games, but then went on a bad 5 loss row, but recovered and then won their last 3 games. So form has been better for haze in recent weeks. NPCSs won the first game between them in week 3, but lost last week matchup, but mythril was not present in that game, so that result does not mean much.
Key players:
NPCSs team features 2 of the top 4 rated wbs after main season in Mythril and bombed forming lethal duo in majority of games they played together. Azuline as 7.5* has been best low star in this league, but in recent weeks his performances have taken a turn to worse. He still remains vital part of their lineup. Last 2 spots have been shared by traded rainbow seeker, siaxis and booker007. But npcs has been very generous in giving people chances with alltogether 14 different players making appearance in the lineup.
Haze has been heavily reliant on iron survivor, who has live up to expectations, being highest rated player in league now. Haze has also tried and tested variety of players with majority of roster making an appearance. They also have banzi, best, cripple and rough from top players on roster, but not all can of course be in game at the same time. Dwopple, spectacular and groan have been most used lower rated players, but none have really impressed so far.
Possible best lineups:
mythril/bombed/rainbow seeker/azuline/klean-x vs iron survivor/best/banzi/spectacular/brunson. Both teams have so many options though as bench is long and with quality, we can expect losing team of first game make some changes.
Prediction:
Hard to bet against mythril in wb competitions, so i am gonna go with NPCS 2-1
Power vs Ronaldos
Power ended up facing Ronaldos in semifinals, how have they done so far:
Main season:
Powers main season can be described pretty much as, fck yea who got winning lineup turned into the fck, what was that in second game, or we are so doomed, to its not that bad in second. In all weekends but 1, power has gone 1-1, so lacking much needed stability. Ronaldos of course started horribly with losing 4 first games in a row, but have gained momentum and last weekend already won both of the games, showing their true capabilities. Power still has mental advantage over them, as both games between the teams so far, have been won by them.
Key players:
Compared to all other teams in semis, power has used by far least number of different players in 11, but those players have been used in variety of combinations, so hardly any lineup is the same compared to previous game. High-stars okyo and dak of course have been good, but also sword has enjoyed very good wb season so far mvping several games. Zizu has not been as impressive as last season, but has still featured in most of games with christian10 being very low star to complete the roster. Turban and beam have also played a few, but been far from their vp level so far.
Ronaldos have been blessed with saiyans return to zone as he has taken no time to get back into shape and if it werent for 3 less games played, he would probably be leading the ratings at this stage. Crucial and consistently at very high level, he has been brilliant so far. Tripin, flew and low star ekko have featured also in majority of games, tripin being especially good with last spot shared between variety of players like ardour, jz, dare, stayon and others.
Possible best lineups:
okyo/dak/sword/zizu/christian10 vs saiyan/tripin/stayon/flew/ekko. Both teams have of course many options, so once again i expect team to lose first game go and try something else in second game.
Prediction:
I believe in my team and our winning streak against ronaldos to continue Power 2-1.
Jav
Haze vs Ronaldos
Haze went with somewhat risky move choosing Ronaldos as their semifinal opponent, even though npcs actually had worse rec. Let's see if the favorites live up to their standards.
Main season:
So Haze started off season pretty strong. After losing to power in first week, they actually went on 5 game winning streak, that was, wait for it, yes ended by Ronaldos in week 4. They were missing dreamwin for last weekend, so results there are not really relevant. Ronaldos had also very strong mid-season streak with all games won in rounds 3 and 4, but last weekend was also not perfect, as the only win they got was freewin vs p1ssm1n (similar to Haze) and lost to pure luck. So it can be said neither team was really on top of their game in recent times. Haze stumped Ronaldos in week 2, but lost in week 4, so its 1-1 between them in main season.
Key players:
Haze is of course heavily reliant on their 2 10* rough and dreamwin and they have been very good entire season. Cripple, dwopple and low star rabbit! have been usually part of their lineup as well with spectacular and banzi also making appearances.
Ronaldos have equally strong duo in saiyan and stayon, but their lineups have had far more variety with ekko, low star tripin, hulk, cig smoke, flew, yeh all making multiple appearances. But essentially both teams look similar in concept 2 high stars, backed with a low star and 8-8.5* players.
Possible best lineups:
rough/dreamwin/cripple/dwopple/rabbit! vs saiyan/stayon/hulk/flew/tripin.
Prediction:
Gonna go against the flow here, but saiyans form and stayons lag combined with more equal lineup and shaky form of dwop and potential quick deaths to rabbit! should give advantage and first big surprise with Ronaldos 2-1
Power vs npcs
Power ended up facing npcs, team they played their last main season game against and won, so some small morale boost for them for sure
Main season:
Powers main season in jav has been almost exactly as in wb, winning 1 game then losing 1 or other way round. So finding stability has been difficult for them. Last main season round with 2 good wins gave them definitely more confidence going into semis with new lineup also working well. NPCSs main season has been so-so, winning first 3 games, then losing 3 and then having 1-1 weeks after. At times they have impressed, but at times they have choked. Both teams have 1 win against each other from main season.
Key players:
Similar to Haze/Ronaldos, Powers power-duo zidane/turban have been in great shape, both sitting on top of ratings as well after main season. Okyo has been solid backup for them backed up with sword, beam and christian10. Genx debut in last main season games gives him also hope to feature more in upcoming games.
NPCSs main force has been trio of mythril, bombed and rampage, backed with low stars siaxis and azuline. They of course have also temujin on roster, but his appearances have been rare and traded rainbow seeker, who has to impress more to make it to semis lineup.
Possible best lineups:
turban/zidane/okyo/beam/genx vs mikkiz/bombed/rampage/siaxis/azuline.
Prediction:
Turban and zidane, if in shape, should make their 10*s count, rest of the team was also very solid last weekend. So i predict Power 2-0
Base
Haze vs Ronaldos
Haze chose Ronaldos as opponent also in base and this seems more logical compared to jav, as although, npcs have less wins, they are totally different team with mikkiz in lineup.
Main season:
Not much to say about Haze main season, they went undefeated until last game, finding perfect lineup already at early stages of league. Ronaldos, even at worse times were still pretty decent in base and ended up season strong with 2 wins in last matchday. Haze of course won both games between the teams.
Key players:
Haze main lineup has remained same throughout the season with zizzo doing excellent job in terrier, omega red/dwopple in sharks with top spiders dreamwin, rucci and cripple and groan/rabbit! handling under.
Ronaldos have used far bigger variety of lineups with both pressure and ekko sharing terrier duty, cig smoke/hulk mainly handling shark and stayon/henry saari/saiyan as main top spiders with dare, tripin, jz, flew all getting chances as under.
Possible best lineups:
zizzo/dwopple/omega red/dreamwin/rucci/cripple/groan/rabbit! vs ekko/hulk/cig smoke/saiyan/stayon/henry saari/tripin/jz.
Prediction:
Haze has been so overwhelming this season, i just dont see Ronaldos beating them, although their end of season has been strong. Haze 2-0
Power vs npcs
Power meet up with npcs in what is going to be very tight matchup.
Main season:
Power main season once again follows a patter, winning all on week 1, losing all on week 2, winning all on week 3, then again losing all on 4 and winning all on 5th. Really hope this pattern will end in semis as according to that, it is losing weekend again. NPCSs main season has been pretty much consistent with winning whenever mikkiz is there and losing when he is not.
Key players:
Zizu has not had perhaps his best season, even in ratings he is currently second, which is a rare sight, but he remains vital part of power lineup. Zidane/Genx make a vocal duo, but as seasons before have shown, effective duo in shark with 10* spiders turban/renzi/sword in variety of lineups backed up by okyo and lee/azzaz under duo.
NPCSs key player has been mikkiz, with him in lineup, mythril/azuline make up a great shark duo, rainbow seeker/bombed/absurd give firepower on top while unlimited/rampage as under duo. In weeks with mikkiz missing, dutch baser, azuline and jabra have also featured.
Possible best lineups:
zizu/zidane/genx/turban/renzi/okyo/lee/azzaz vs mikkiz/mythril/azuline/absurd/bombed/rainbow seeker/rampage/unlimited
Prediction:
Power takes time to get their games going and often its too late. But when they do, they play really strong, so expecting them to turn this around and win. They also have 3 10* advantage , so even if someone is not having a good game, sub is equally strong. Power 2-1
WB
