TWDT third week overview
Better late than never, but here it is. As season is approaching midway, some dynamics are changing and gap between top and bottom teams seems shrinking. With only 2 teams managing to keep themselves undefeated (power in base and prime in wb) in a league and 1 still without win (prime in base), things are getting heated.
JAV
PERFECT WEEKEND
Terrorist (2-0)
Having had just a single win before this weekend, Terrorist surprised everyone taking wins in both games. With autopilot back in shape, the all nordic lineup consisting of also maketso, captain lonestar, dreamwin and zizu had no problems despatching dice and giving them their first loss. Of course, dice had some key players missing and had to play with 3! players below 8*. Second game was a bit more tricky with captain lonestar getting eliminated first, but awesome performance from autopilot, mvping with 16-7 still proved decisive in final moments. Very valuable points as terrorist took maximum what they could.
Pure Luck (2-0)
Tiny finally had both of his star-trades in morph and cape showing up and rolled over jav weekend like it was nothing. Morph went 13-4 and although shaw playing in low-star spot got eliminated, rest of team in tiny, aprix, cape provided good support giving Monster no chance. Second game vs Prime was even more dominant, although shaw was eliminated already before 7 minute mark, rest of crew with tiny in lead crushed Primes hopes of getting anything from this game.
SO-SO
Dice (1-1)
Dice could only field 40* in their first game vs terrorist and despite okyo going mad with 18 kills, team was just too unbalanced to get anything from that game with telemanus, dak and rabbit! all struggling. Dice was lucky though to face another team in Force with poor showup which ultimately game down to okyo vs mythril showdown and although myth scored more kills, okyo with sub shaun overcoming spectacular/myth duo. So Dice probably happy to score a win although jamal/temujin both missing this weekend.
Prime (1-1)
Prime started well with comfortable win against Power with havok mvping 14-6 and racka/iron survivor/jurassic and spirit in lineup. Second game vs pure luck was nightmare though, with spirit and iron both underperforming as they couldnt match tinys teams pace. Primes jav lineup will definitely have a different feel next weekend with havok/skatarius both traded and hulk/lockdown coming in.
Pwned nl (1-1)
Pwned started weekend well with 8* mikkiz dominating (15-7) against force. Turban, tripin, riverside and captor completing the lineup. Missing both creature and commodo though, made overcoming power impossible task in second game, as they suffered very clear defeat with turban being only one going positive.
Monster (1-1)
Monster didnt expect get rolled over by pure luck, but that was exactly what happened, as Monster had poor performances from both rampage himself (subbing him out at 0-4) and with low vps (neither pawner or cig smoke doing anything useful in game). Also rough ended up with 5-10, so yet another poor performance for team in this league. In second game, bombed went 17-8 and rest of team supported well as they crushed pwned. Getting only 50% of wins was probably not expected from Monster in jav, but alot of games still ahead.
BAD WEEKEND
Power (0-2)
Powers struggles in jav continue as they didnt score a single win last weekend. With zidane being only one going positive, rest of team in zizzo, yeh, spawnisen and rabbit failed to cause too much damage to Prime. It was much closer fight against terrorist, with game lasting almost 27 minutes. But in the end zid/zizzo/spawni were defeated by autopilot/zizu/maketso trio.
Force (0-2)
Force weekend started bad with the biggest loss from all games against pwned with entire roster going negative. Mythril, hellkite, kangal (subbed later for bacon), spectacular and low star rodney just could not come up with anything positive. Second game vs dice was much closer, but in the end despite myth getting 18 kills, they still had to face yet another loss.
BASE
PERFECT WEEKEND
Pwned nl (2-0)
Pwned hasnt had much luck in base so far, but they came to last weekend to really bring it. Mikkiz in terr, riverside/genx shark duo and turban, henry saari, bike, tj and aiki managed to overcome monster in pretty equal game with aiki impressing as 6* spider. Same roster (with turban and gen x switching ships) also did well enough against Prime with aiki bringing the level even higher getting to 100 kills with impressive 11% k/bul ratio. So definitely favorable schedule for pwned, but they also took maximum from it.
Power (2-0)
Powers superstar base team keeps steamrolling this league. First giving Prime 0 minutes on flag and then dispatching their main favorite terrorist comfortably as ogron/zidane shining alongside willby, cripple, sword, renzi, spawni and dad. Having 72,5! vp per freq, it needs some real effort from any other team to have a chance against them.
Force (2-0)
Force had a good weekend in base. Spookedone in terr, myth/rodney in shark and rainbow, refer, raazi, hellkite and bacon spiders comfortably beat pure luck in first game with rainbow once again showing his incredible kill abilities. Dice in second game was not bigger problem with almost 10 minute difference at the end of the game with bacon this time being the mvp. Force now looks to be 3rd best base team, behind the big duo of power/terrorist, with both of their losses coming from those teams (and power game was really close weekend ago).
SO-SO
Terrorist (1-1)
Terrorist had 2 really tough games for this weekend. Dice proved to be worthy opponent, but final minute of game dw and the boys still managed to take the win in what was the closest game of weekend. Zizu in terr, omega (in last phase of game replaced by joe) and mvp in shark and spiders frozen throne, lockdown, captain lonestar, dreamwin and kuukunen managed to somehow stay alive despite getting outkilled by opponents in this game. In second game dw really tried to get better of power, but despite testing different lineup options, it was really in vain and power in the end comfortably beat them.
Pure luckl (1-1)
Tiny had cape showing up for weekend allowing him to test some lineup options, but nothing really worked as Force rolled over them in first game. In second game though, they got very comfortable win against Monster. Tiny in terr, hulk/morph in shark with variety of spiders also used as sarger dominated the field. Pure luck roster really changes dramatically every weekend, so lets see what happens in week 4 with hulk/aprix as regular players for tiny, are now replaced with menel, skatarius and mouse.
BAD WEEKEND
Dice (0-2)
Dice had no jamal for weekend and had to rely on somewhat weakened roster. Pressure as terrier, ph and azuline as sharks and stayon/okyo/rabbit!/shaun/PA as spiders put up a great fight against Terrorist, but had to face loss in final minute of game. They really never got a chance against force though and yet another loss for team that looked to run away with main season win, but has to now look over their shoulders as competitors are closing in. With triple trade coming in, azuline is now departing dice and mark coming in as shark, lets see how this changes dynamics of their base team.
Prime (0-2)
Prime struggles in base continue with embarrasing 0-15 loss to Power in first game. Granted they really didnt have good showup with only 65.5vps in game. They did pick up a bit, but without end result in second game vs pwned. Ekko in terr, menel/vehicle sharks and jack, spirit, jurassic, racka and havok in spiders was unfortunately still not good enough. Lets see how they do in upcoming week with some decent basers in omega, hulk and lockdown joining the team.
Monster (0-2)
Also monster struggles continue in base with them now being second worst team in this league. Both losses against pwned and pure luck have made rampage also look into trade market with mark and mouse departing team and azuline/dak entering.
WB
PERFECT WEEKEND
Prime (2-0)
Prime continues their undefeated streak in wb as noone managed to match them also last weekend. Jack mvpd together with jurassic, racka, iron survivor and spirit as they turned the game against dice in their favor in deciding minutes. Game against monster was easier with jurassic this time being the mvp. With lockdown also joining Prime, they are definitely the team to beat in this wb season.
Force (2-0)
Force ended their weekend with a high as their wb team took 2 comfortable wins. First the lineup rainbow, mythril, raazi, siaxis, nbside domu beat pwned with rainbow with another mvp performance. Game against monster was just as comfortable with siaxis this time being mvp. Force looks really solid in wb, we will see how solid they are, as they face Prime in next weekends game.
SO-SO
Pwned (1-1)
Pwned had to face that superstar force team and yea it didnt really work out for them. Only Hercules managed to go positive as rest of team failed to deliver. Roster of turban, riverside, hercules, bike, captor
Power (1-1)
Cripple was again the superstar as power managed to comfortably beat monster in somewhat unexpected game to start off wb weekend. Ogron, zidane, sword and heafin as low vp all contributed getting important point. 44* force team was though way too much for them as second game went as most of people would have expected. Power is not really expected to win wb, so any points are good points for them.
Terrorist (1-1)
Terrorist started weekend with a loss against Pure Luck. Game was pretty tight, they managed to take out PL low vp and also tiny relatively early, but end game 3v3 still lost against inspired flew and co in last phase of game. It was bound to happen some day and last sunday was the day when terrorist finally also scored a win. Dreamwin as mvp (15-9) with autopilot, lockdown, zizu and christian got comfortable win against Dice.
Pure luck (1-1)
Pure luck got what they could from wb weekend. Flew was the star (14-6) as they beat terrorist, with tiny, cape, morph and shaw as low vp. Rozay pulled a 0-7 as pwned rolled over them in what could have been a winnable game, as PL actually had more vps in game. Lets see how trading peru will change PL chances in wb.
BAD WEEKEND
Dice (0-2)
Dice poor showup weekend culminated with 2 wb losses. Okyo fought valiantly, but didnt ultimately get enough support from rest of crew, when they suffered against Prime. Peru was the culprit (0-7 and subbed) when terrorist got better of dice. So somewhat weekend stayon wants to forget.
Monster (0-2)
Monster had similar to Dice very bad weekend and wb games were no exception. Entire team collapsed against power with surprising scores (rough bombed both going 4-10) and clark only one going positive. Game against Prime was no better as monster was left with empty hands with only single jav point from this weekend.
Conclusions:
Monster and Dice both dropped points, resulting in rest of teams catching up with Dice and Monster dropping to last place. Trading is starting to influence teams more and more, as some massive player movements are happening. Historical 3-team trade including 7 different players moving between teams shows captains are making final moves as trade deadline is approaching.
Games to watch:
Jav 1 - Monster vs pwned nl - Will monster finally click and start getting those wins or will their struggles continue.
Jav 2 - Pure luck vs Dice - PL has acquired some very good javs, dice had bad showup this weekend, but if all show, this could be really interesting match.
Base 1 - Power vs Terrorist - Power and Terrorist meet in rematch, can dw figure something out and deliver first loss to Power?
Base 2 - Pwned vs Force - both talented teams, midtable in base, who will come on top
Wb 1 - terrorist vs power - rematch of 2 teams desperate for some more points in wb
Wb 2 - prime vs force - 2 hottest teams in wb face each other
