TWDT final week update and predictions
TWDT is approaching its final main season weekend. Lets take a look how next week may turn out and which teams will make it to playoffs. Looking at table, none of the teams have yet guaranteed a playoff spot and no team is definitely out as well, so it looks to be exciting weekend ahead of us.
Most probably in playoffs:
1) PRIME - While looking like a strong team already after draft in warbird, Racka has made some smart trading and become better in all leagues, getting wins also in jav and base. Not to mention one bizarre result, Prime looks really amazing in wb with iron/racka/jurassic/lockdown/source, difficult to see any team beating them in playoff format. Prime will have difficult teams to face in jav and base, but in wb they should get their 2 wins, so i predict them ending main season with 23 points.
2) PWNED.NL - Bikes team is perhaps the most balanced team out there, getting wins in all leagues equally (7 wins in each league). This has resulted them being joint leaders in table, but at the same time also really not really being a big favorite in any league for playoffs. I expect Pwned to have a decent last weekend, losing games in jav, but getting a point in base and perhaps even 2 in wb, depending on pure luck situation (if they are still in fight for playoffs by the time wb games happen, could be also a loss). I am optimistic to tinys team, so i predict pwned also to end up with 23 points securing playoff spot.
3) TERRORIST - While really strong in base from the beginning, dreamwins trades made them a real threat in jav as well and brought some important points also in wb, making them rise in rankings as they now sit on joint 3-4th position only 1 point behind leaders. Terrorist has pretty tough schedule last week, they got that base game vs power and also jav game vs pure luck, while facing force in wb. But i expect them to win 3 other games ending up with 23 points as well.
4) POWER - Power is similar to Prime in wb, by far the biggest favorite in base and still goes undefeated. Another matchup vs terrorist is ahead of them, but i still expect them to continue their streak into playoffs. They have managed to get a few wins here and there in wb/jav as well, but unlike Prime/Terrorist, havent really elevated in those leagues. I see them getting 3 wins like Terrorist as well (1 in jav 2 in base) ending also on 23 points.
In battle for last spot:
5) DICE - Dice has been really been in up and down in leagues, but some crucial wins last weekend have given them a bit better position for last weekend. Still strong in jav (if top line shows), i expect them to get 2 points from jav, but they will struggle in base and can look for a point in wb, ending their season in 20 points.
6) MONSTER - Heavily duelling-focused Monster has so far only 1 win in base, which makes their situation pretty dire, but it is still in their hands to make it to playoffs and if they do make it, they are considerable opponent in both wb and jav, although their jav season hasnt been as dominant as many thought it would be. I can see Monster taking wins in jav and losing games in base and then losing wb agaisnt prime, which means by the time Pure Luck wb game happens, they are at 18 points, which means that came can already happen between 2 teams out of playoffs.
7) FORCE - Force team is solid in base and pretty good in wb, but in jav, they have been really weakest team, which similar to Monster, puts them at risk for playoffs. They did have pretty good weekend though, taking 4 points from base/wb, which gives them hope of overcoming opponents in last week of main season. They got pretty easy schedule for last weekend as well and if key people show, i can see them getting 4 points again from base/wb, ending with 20 points.
8) PURE LUCK - Pure luck has been by far the most entertaining, yet also unfortunate team of this season. Poised with massive trades and lineup almost completely changing over the course of season, they have also had really difficult times with showups, with important players missing almost every week. Still they look to be potentially the best jav team out there. Looking at their last week schedule though, it is possible that they can have a perfect weekend. Both jav games are winnable, in base they face probably 2 weakest base teams (alongside with PL themselves) in Prime and Monster. And if people stay sober and focused, there is also chance in wb against pwned and monster. But even with 6 wins, they would end up 19 points, perhaps overcoming Monster, but unless some surprise results happen, missing playoffs with a point.
So as conclusion, both monster and pure luck need to really wish either dice or force to have a bad show or bad weekend. One of those teams has to play below level for them to have a chance and of course they both need strong showup. If that happens, that monster vs pure luck wb game can be pretty epic, deciding which team will make it.
But as for predicting winners of this league. Its difficult not to vote for Prime to win in wb and Power to win in base. Jav is still open, several teams have loads of potential and if pure luck/monster get eliminated it gets even more interesting as those 2 seem to be the best jav teams for now. Dice, Terrorist, Pwned all have potential to win it.
