TWDT playoff view
We got one more weekend to go, time to check, what is still on table and how the games may go. Gonna take a look team by team starting from lowest:
Revenge (5 wins) - menels team is out, they more or less already were before last weekend but captain not even bothering showing shows how bad things went for this team. If lucky they manage to actually play a few games with borrows, but it is most likely 6 more losses coming up and free wins to whoever face them. Only thing they can do is surprise everyone and show up and stir up some games.
Treyway (13 wins) - After very positive weekend (4-2) they still have a chance and it is also up to them to really produce results, not just hope for other games to go in their way. First match of the weekend is probably the most crucial one, jav against Terrorist, their main competitor. Last time they met, it came down to nailbiting hercules vs maketso duel, where maketso came out as winner. So it is going to be match to watch for sure for neutrals. If treyway wins, they will be just 1 short of terrorist. Next up is cloud in jav. Definitely team that can be defeated, they have been sort of good and bad without any consitency in this league.
In base they face their biggest challenge having to face reign and lowtiergods. Treyway just scored their first 2 wins in base last weekend, both vs relatively weak teams (terrorist have been struggling entire league and cloud only could line up 66.5 team). Reign is totally different beast and one of the best base teams in league. LTG is pretty solid, doesnt look like its going to win the league, but is definitely going to be challenge for Treyway.
Last but not least its wb, facing Trespass and then probably freewin vs Revenge. I dont see them going 6-0, feel like they will lose base game vs Reign, LTG game who knows, so 4-2 or 5-1 is possible meaning they have a real chance vs terrorist.
Terrorist (15 wins) - Terrorist had pretty awful weekend with only 1 win vs forfeiting Revenge team. This means that this is getting awfully close to them. Still 2 win lead over Treyway could be made into 3 if they manage to defeat them in jav game + they got revenge in base, giving them another free win, LTG in jav is also winnable while Reign is most probably gonna beat them in base. WB is gonna be tough though, facing 2 out of top 3 wb teams in subnautica and trespass. So it could be another 1-5 weekend.
So it is pretty simple, if they win vs Treyway in jav, they are most likely going to make it to playoffs, if they lose, i would probably put my bet already on Treyway, although it is still in Terrorist own hands to avoid it.
Lowtiergods (19 wins) - LTG just needs Treyway to lose 1 game to secure playoffs and it is most likely it will happen, so despite pretty bad form of late they are feeling secure. Otherwise they got pretty tough schedule for last weekend, facing teams fighting for survival (like terrorist in jav and treyway in base), but also top teams in leagues like subnautica in base and cloud in wb. They will probably still score a win or 2, but ever since vys departed them, they havent been that solid unit they were in early stages of league, as a reminder, they were nr1 in rankings for jav and wb after week 4 and 2nd in overall, while now they are only team from top-tier teams, that hasnt still officially secured playoffs. They still in contention for getting top 2 rating in jav though, and both teams (terrorist and trespass) are winnable.
Reign (20 wins)- Reign has been solid this season and has very strong jav and base teams, both condenders for title. They also have in reality 1 game less played (the replayable 1st round match vs revenge), which probably is going to be another win, so in reality they sit in 21 and joint 9 wins in base with trespass. Just like Trespass in wb, they are also in interesting position of deciding the last playoff spot as they face both treyway and terrorist in base. In reality both games should be easy wins for them, but lets see what happens. Jav game vs subnautica looks to be deciding which teams gets the top 2 tier in jav and bye-week. And then they get free win vs revenge in wb.
Cloud (21 wins) - With myth and rainbow seeker, cloud looks to be main contender for wb title, but havent been really consistent in other leagues. Still they have picked up enough wins in both jav and base, they have really never been in danger of dropping out, but they also do not seem to be contenders in those leagues. Highlight for their last main season weekend is probably wb game vs subnautica who are currently ranked 3rd in that league. In jav they got tough opponents in reign and treyway, in base they probably get a free win and then hard game vs Trespass. WB of course should give them 2 more wins, so usual 3-3 weekend is looking likely.
Trespass (24 wins) - Trespass has been only team alongside Subnautica showing good results in all leagues. They got very interesting schedule for last weekend. If they beat LTG it is possible for them to also make it to top 2 in jav, as their second jav game is vs revenge, giving them possible 9 wins at the end of league. They got winnable base game vs cloud and then massive base game vs subnautica, favorites in base. And of course in wb they can be deciders in playoff spots facing first treyway and then terrorist, if there is still chance for treyway by that time to catch terrorist.
Subnautica (26 wins) - Most solid team entire league and highly competitive in all leagues, perhaps weakest in wb still. They got 3 key games, against reign in jav, vs trespass in base and vs cloud in wb. They are most likely already top tier in base and very likely to make it to top 2 in jav as well as they also have free win vs revenge coming up, ending their season with potential 10, but if they lose to reign its all open with several teams going after 9 wins and a messy calculation probably in play. WB top 2 is possible if trespass messes up both of their wb games.
Bye week candidates:
jav - its really all still open with 4 teams (subnautica, reign, ltg, trespass) still having chances. Jav overall seems to be most open league, hard to predict any winners as teams are very highly dependant on key players having good or bad games.
base - subnautica is already among top 2, reign and trespass fight for the other spot.
wb - cloud most probably among top 2, trespass and subnautica fight for the other spot.
