We wave goodbye to Treyway and Revenge as focus goes to 6 remaining teams fighting for the titles. First up quarterfinals:
JAV:
Jav remains the most unpredictable league with only 4 wins between best and worst team after main season (excluding revenge who never got it going). There are no clear favorites, but subnautica and reign (due to better head-to-head) managed to secure top spots.
Trespass vs Cloud
Trespass had pretty up and down season with starting well, going through a slump midseason (after week 4 were second last in standings), but ended season with 6 straight wins and go into playoffs in good shape. Okyo has been leading the way being most consistent player entire season with strong support from Tiny, Banzi, Tripin and Azuline. Those 5 have carried the backbone of the team, but hulk remains also a possibility for surprise appearance and some lower rated players have also stepped in for a few games.
Cloud has never really established themselves as top contender in league and they havent had a single weekend with doublewins in jav so far. Rough has been mainstay in team with draft, yeh, tpz, mythril, ardour being rotated in matches and christian10 also making appearances. Both games between teams in main season were won by Trespass, but margins were close as both games were in the end +5.
Trespass is definitely a favorite here, but as jav teams are really close and Cloud has many experienced javs on team i do not expect it to go easily.
Trespass wins 2-1
Lowtiergods vs Terrorist
LTG season can be described as hot or not until last weekend, as they either won both jav games or lost both. They also had to reinvent themselves for later part of season after vys quitting, but have actually shown very good games and new established top 5. Overall LTG is the team with most different players being used multiple times in games with 9 pilots having 4 or more games for main season. Zidane has been of course leading the way, but spawnisen and jabra have also performed well with siaxis, sword and beast in later rounds finding also more gametime. LTG also have beaten terrorist in both of their games with last one taking place in last round of season, so things are looking positive for them.
Jav was thing holding terrorist together for majority of season as it was only league they got decent results and wins coming. But as games improved in wb and base, their jav form seemed to have taken a turn downwards with only 2 wins (one of them against revenge) in last 6 matches. Dreamwin has been of course excellent and supported well by maketso and hellzno!, but rest of the team has struggled, Ro has become active in recent weeks and most probably takes place in their lineup, but this would also mean they need 6 star in game and how intoxicated manages to stay alive is pretty key for them.
I see LTG favorites here, but terrorist new lineup can score a win as well.
LTG wins 2-1
BASE:
Base has been dominated with subnautica who end up season with only 1 loss, reign and trespass fought until the end for second base and better head-to-head gave Reign bye-week. So question of the entire season is if anyone can pull surprise and take the title from turbans team.
Trespass vs Terrorist
Trespass season has been interesting one. On one hand they have managed to beat all the other quarterfinal teams every single time, at the same time have lost all games to the 2 top teams. To be fair though, they have not had their potential best lineup in any of those games, so i believe we are still capable of surprises even against top 2. Tiny has been main terrier with azuline also having a few games with hulk and azuline being main sharks and mvp taking that role also after being traded to team. Okyo and tj hazuki have been in great shape with banzi while frozen throne and tripin have had fair share of games as well. Alltogether trespass has played 17! different players in spider, record for the league.
Terrorist struggled for the longest time, but with return of ro, their games have improved. Dreamwin probably plays terrier, although maketso is also an option, ranch duo joe and mark hold sharks and maketso, groan, ro and intoxicated will most probably set up rest of line. Dak, hellzno and refer have also had their share of gametime for terrorist.
Alot depends on showups, but i still feel trespass here as a favorite. Expect at least 1 win for dw though.
Trespass wins 2-1
Cloud vs Lowtiergods
Cloud has been having pretty poor base season, every now and then they have some great games and then collapse. Looking at their lineup though, they got really strong spiders in rainbow seeker, rough, mouse, absurd, source, lupin and tpz, even very decent low stars like rabbit and christian. Their problems lie more in other ships. Terrier has been mainly held by absurd, and he has been okeyish, but not up to 9* rating. Sharks besides myth (who is also not having a great season) been tpz and violence, neither also delivered as expected. So team that has most out of shape specialist ships, but massive potential in spiders. Lets see if they can find a working solution in playoffs.
Lowtiergods have had similar sloppy season, jabra and siaxis have been playing terrier, daemon and zidane holding sharks, while they again boast a very decent spider lineup in sword, bad badger, spawnisen and ra with unlimited, captain lonestar and dad holding low star position. With multishipper bad badger also in ranks, LTG has options in testing different lineups and zidanes teams usually are different beasts in playoffs, lets see how this goes, their games are also 1-1 during main season.
Lowtiergods wins 2-1
WB:
Wb season really went under clouds control until last weekend, when missing rainbow seeker made them lose both games and drop behind both trespass and subnautica. Reign had the worst main season out of qualified teams with only 4 wins, looking at their roster and talent, this is massive surprise, so lets see if they can find themselves in playoffs.
Cloud vs Lowtiergods
As mentioned, cloud had really impressive season up until last weekend when they surprisingly lost both games to lowtiergods and subnautica. With rainbow and myth bot among top 6 wbd, it is clear who lead the team, but rough has been also solid but source has sort of having a worse season compared to his breakout role last time. Warthog and christian share the low star role on team. Before last weekend of the season LTG had really poor wb showups going several weeks without a single win after vys quit. But last weekend actually saw them rising to occasion winning both games, so pretty interesting setup as cloud coming off from worst weekend picked team with perfect record. Siaxis, sword, bike, 100 and zidane most likely build up team without any low vps while dameon has carried the low star roles in games where needed.
I still see core talent Cloud has as key in this battle and them being clear favorites.
Cloud wins 2-0
Terrorist vs Reign
Terrorist started season pretty well, then dropped off in the middle to somewhat find form again beating reign in week 6 to drop the ball again in last weekend. Besides dreamwin, dak and maketso, who make the core of the team, loads of other players have been used like ro, refer, poseidon and captor. It is difficult to see what lineup dw will select, there are many options, to go without low vps or use captor in game, maybe even animeboy will show up, although his performances in last weekend werent that great.
Reign was on paper really one of the top teams after draft with racka, bombed, geio, havok, banks, renzi, dwopple all very capable in ship. But they havent been able to really build on this and their games have been sloppy and without consistency. They even managed to lose to revenge and have lost last 4 games of the season. Still, their potential is there, i see this as potential for upset and lower ranked team actually taking the win.
Reign wins 2-1
