i don't understand why people think pallies captains change alot. We've had basically the same core of Captains and assitant captains for the past 3+ years. The only major change of captancy was our squad ownership when div went missing and had his picture on the sides of milk cartons everywhere in america. Other than that, the major captains of pallies haven't rotated that much at all. But the core captains of pallies that have really fought to keep this squad going would have to be

p.s. if you're wondering why i didnt mention anyone other squds its because i don't care about anyone else. seriously tho, props to captains of diso and sk8. They are the one and only squad we can honestly say that we have had above average competition with 3 years in a row.

Almost noone here has anything to say about Magoo because very few people know him and fewer have actually been squaded under him.

I love Paul, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel people should be commenting on things if they haven't been on the squad and known what goes on. Outside looking in doesn't allow someone to know everything.

I always looked at it the other way around, I was a yeller a screamer during matches... at first I would be passive about mess ups, but I realized that wasn't doing the newbs any good, so I started yelling at them... I wasn't ever really angry, but sometimes it needed that extra oompf to get the info through their A.D.D. lovable heads. No1 liked that idea of yelling though, and it costed me leadership :P

I thought my stronger point was recruitment, since you know, RB was BASED on the recruits it got. We had the most active recruits when I was around, and ultimately the most bds because of it.

Good recruiter, bad leader... that's really what it was about.
And I agree A1, this thread should be about "the best leaders you've been under" of course really only if you've had more than one person lead you.

Just wondering what criteria are you guys basing 'the best captain' on exactly?

It seems as though this is mostly based on:

1) Squads that have been around for a long time, and thus by default must have good captains.
2) Squads that people like to join, and thus by default must have good captains
3) Squads you're one and thus by default must have good captains
4) Squads you sorta like, and thus by default must have good captains.

Yet I don't think there's been really a critical analysis of what makes a good captain, and if the captain really had that much to do with the squad lasting so long and so on. For instance KJW doesn't really lead Paladen anymore and hasn't for a very long time. They work with a few senior leaders and with a democracy (sorta like Spastic but not as crazy as those mofos). Some people mentioned Annul with complete disregard about how he abandons his team and dissolves it right before playoffs. Some people mention Disq or captains of Pallies (whoever they are) and Diso (whoever they are) because you like their squads with no real analysis of if the captains are doing the work that makes it like you.

So what are you basing it on?

P.S. My vote goes to Rule and Crome for past captains My criteria were that they ran squads which were champions with great recruiting, with players who cared a lot about their squad and bonded, and were constantly working to make their squad great.
