The people you're talking about that skip all over the place and eat and what not, those are by and large shitheads with cable or dsl or some other form of broadband who are INDUCING latency. If you want to be pissed about lag, be pissed at the lagcheaters. Goddamnit, stop dragging 56k'ers through the mud. I'm on a 56k. I've played most of my years of SS on a 56k. I manage an average of 120-150ms at peak hours with, at most, .5% packetloss, but usually only .1% if any at all. This is standard fare for a large majority of 56k users. Moot isn't a good representation whatsoever of your average 56ker. The poor fellow is in NZL. He's in the worst possible geographical location known to man for online gaming, save for perhaps an even poorer fellow stuck in the middle of the Antarctic. Furthermore, a STEADY 350ms is ten times better than someone on cable who at one moment has 30ms and the next is at 100ms or higher. It's not about how low the number is. It's the consistency of the number.
