For the argument that the bursts won't kill a warbird, this is true, but it completely incapacitates it for a good 3 seconds (easily enough time to get a few spider bullets into it). And how often do you think warbirds actually are at 1500 energy in an FR fight? If you say the majority of the time, you haven't basebirded.
Bursts are not random anymore Stabwound. At one time they were, but I'm almost positive they're fixed now. With the fixed damage ALWAYS killing, bursts are much more powerful than they should be. The randomness balanced them out, and kept them from being the 3-ship killers they are today.
It doesn't have to be 1400 energy either, any number below 1500 would be fine, I just think that 1400 keeps the bursts as a fearful weapon without making them overpowered.
