Anyways, I think I've made my decision. Thanks to everyone who spent time posting .
WELL WHAT'S THE DECISION?????????????

Originally posted by Eric is GodIm squadless at the moment and Im not sure whether I want to compete in TWL this season. This is not a grab for attention or anything. In fact, Id prefer if people who feel like offering their opinions pretend they don't know me (and if you don't know me, even better). I've just been trying to weigh the positives and negatives of joining a league squad and contributing more time and effort into this game than I currently am. I do enjoy competing in this game, but most of my TWL expiriences have been negative ones. I've either been late to games, my lag was bad, something happened with the squad, or I got benched.
So what does everyone think? Is it worth me putting in the necessary time and effort to compete in TWL? Before you offer your thoughts, keep the following in mind:
1. If I choose to compete, I go all out. Meaning, I spend a lot of time practicing and I actually care how well my squad does. Unlike some players, I can't just pop on once a week to play my match and leave.
2. I've gone from about 80 hours of free time per week (school term) down to about 20 hours of free time per week (work term). So if I do decide to play in TWL, it will be eating up a large chunk of the free time I have. In the past I wouldn't have cared, but I actually have a social life that could be considered half decent.
So that's it. Thanks to anyone who helps me out. Oh, and I was not sure if this was the best forum for my thread, but it seemed to make sense. If forum admins disagree, feel free to move it. Thanks!
I see your point Eric. I think it's more of how addicted you are to the game. If you're not addicted, then you won't play a lot cause you'll have other things in mind (like going out to clubs and bring a chick home with you...hehehehe). Then again if you actually care how well your squad does, I'm sorry that's what I call addiction. Also, spending a lot of time practicng for a game that doesn't even mean anything in your actual life is also addiction.
So to sum it all up, if you're not sure whether or not you should play in the leagues, it is because you, like many other players, are addicted to this game (not here to diss anyone who really loves this game...just being frank with you) I will admit it's hard to just stop playing a game such as this, and your addiction to the game is exactly why you are now thinking of whether or not you should play in the leagues. If anyone agrees or disagrees feel free to debate.Raging Hawk

i think it'd be a brighter idea to ask the people in your social life what you should do.Philos> I both hate you and like you more than anyone in this game randedl
Philos> there is something about you
Philos> You're like the wife i'd love to fuck, but beat every night after work

Rag.. (mind if I call you rag?) I think you're missing the point. he's not asking if he's good enough, he's asking if it's a good idea for him to get involved instead of spending his time elsewhere.http://www.trenchwars.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15100 - Gallileo's racist thread

Sure, why not?
eric, it's all about personal greed man. How much do you really WANT to play this game? -I- for example wanted to make leagues this season. Unfortunately I'm now on the #1 non-leagues team
I have a steady girlfriend, a fulltime job, and friends that I don't get to see much, yet in my spare time not doing anything, I spend hours on this game.
I've actually been losing sleep trying to get more time in this game. My girlfriend wakes up at like 5am for work, and as soon as she leaves, I hop on my trusty PC, and load up the subspace. I don't have to leave for work until that afternoon, and play all day long, hoping someone will drop this twdd season so I can get in leagues
Anyhow, I just posted this to let you see how it is for me. I personally enjoy this game, mostly because I'm not the best, and I can get bashed at any given moment, and then turn around and pull a 15-7 or something. It's rather enjoyable. At least in MY opinion.
Give it a shot, if you're not sure, just spend a little more time sitting in a DD arena, watching others play, and if you feel the need to be put in and bash on someone, then you should play. If you're like "bleh, this is kinda boring", then maybe you should look more closely to your personal life.
