Week 2 Notes

Hey everyone,

Here's a few notes about this weekends games.

-The lagout checking system will continue to check players as they are entered into the line-up by the referee. If the referee notifies you that a player is above the lag limits, you must find another player to take the spot.

-The in game MVP system for TWLD/J is still not updated, but they will be correct on the TWL wesbite after updating.

-Stats are still not updating properly, so we're still doing them by hand. Hope to have it fixed this week.

-Hinder will need to have their line-up solidified by today. Yankee has been working on acquiring Egyptian players to play for this weekend. If they are unable to meet this qualification we will move on. More updates on this as they develop.

-Some of the basing games are HUGE this weekend, as well as some big DD's. Could be some playoff preview style shit!

-We still have the !score command disabled to reduce lag, but for next weekend we should have a notification system built into the bot. The bot will announce the score as you enter and repeat it every 60 seconds in spec chat.

-I'm looking for a 2-3 writers to join warportal and others in writing articles for TWL. There will still be a place for open player article submission on the website, but these positions will be more long standing. I'm looking for people with objective views and solid writing skills. Submit a sample of your writing to trenchwarsleagues@yahoo.com and we will check them out. Don't send me your 8th grade report on drugs either, I want some TWL related stuff!

Ya should of saved the trouble of recruiting and let Alf in TWLD so they had a better shot at playoffs. Was said but ignored, i guess this is what yankee gets LOL GG YANKEE

Cig, i know from your actions and your words you disagree (specifically your actions), but people should respect Yankee for trying to keep his squad alive. They worked hard to get into TWLD/TWLJ and months of trying to qualify shouldn't be thrown away after 1 or 2 weeks into the season.

Yankee has my respect for putting in the effort. Even if you guys get thrown out of TWL, keep your squad alive and maybe with the new players, you can try to pickup another opening in TWLD if one happens to open up (and if the rules permit you to requalify).

Ya but the core guys who actualy got egyptian qualified are no longer on hinder. They are spread about on other squads. I do give yankee credit for tryin to throw something together quick at the last minute and being a good captain to his loyal players. I do applaud to that, but everyone knnew it was goin to be a mess as soon as the problem was braught up.

He made a great effort trying to keep egyptian alive. I'd blame ex-egyptian players who prefer to be on stupid squad that doesnt even is in TWL then playing TWL with Hinder.

I love how a squad that showed only 3 guys "deserves" a spot in twl.

For next season i don't see a problem instituting a 100% rule for attendance. You play 5v5 or you forfeit (lj,ld) you play 8v8 or you forfeit (lb)

Any team that doesn't show enough, even once, doesn't deserve to be here. This is TWL - supposedly the best league in Trench where the big boys come to play. Most squads have extensive rosters of 20-30 guys, and if you can't get 5 to show, you don't deserve to play, period.

Now if you check the Pallies Spastic (Bots) thread i mentioned a postponement option, which would take the 3 is enough to play attendance rule position. That way, if you know you have everybody on vacation or with lag problems, come time to schedule you can simply postpone the match and make it up, thus not giving up some shitty 5v3 game that skews everything.

I have to agree that there should be a full 5 and 8 requirement for TWL, also the zero tolerance for no-shows. If you are going to show 3 people for a TWLJ/D or 6 for a TWLB game, you may as well not even play at all.

Extenuating circumstances can occur. I don't think a squad should be thrown out of TWL for a forfeit but maybe 3 or so forfeits should warrant a removal from the league.

I believe its currently 2 forfeits and ur out of leagues, which is not such a bad thing, but having 1 and out is fine w/ me. I also like the idea of having full lineups to play. Maybe having 4(ld/lj) / 7 (lb) would be alrite, but 9 out of 10 chances its a loss anyway.

Until a day or two before TWL was about to start, the rule was going to be that you had to have a full line-up or face taking a forfeit loss. I'm not sure why we changed it back to the way it was, but I definitely agree that you should have to show a full line-up or forfeit.
