i would argue that you have to play your best all season... sure everyone wants to see diso make the playoffs, but if they dont i don't think it's like they were robbed by losing 1 game or something. They kinda dug themselves into a hole with 4 losses at the beginning of the season.

You're misunderstanding (misunderestimating ) me. I agree with your points here completely. I'm just pointing out that it's cool that they still have the chance to "make amends" due to the random collapsing of their conference. Meanwhile, an INTENSE competitive situation has arisen in the other conference. Neither of these (rather interesting) events would occur in a smelted conference pool.

I like the bird, never seen Death3d run it, but I imagine he can probably handle himself vs. melee if he knows the basic motions--

I've seen him play it. He has pretty good aim, but his timing is just a bit off. I think he could be a great warbird if he just sticks with it.

I played agaisnt him, he just can't dodge bullets and get to the terr. He doesn't seems to understand that a warbird is in the game to kill the terr.

I've never said he's caliber right now. All he needs is some practice, and there's no substitute for that.

partially true- the warbird's threat to the terr is what makes it so strong, but a warbird could easily have 0 terr kills and dominate a base game.

I think the only thing Death3D had going for him during their LB vs. us was that he lagged like shit. Pretty sure he pulled the plug once or twice because he was outside the flagroom, disappeared, then appeared near the flag.

Agreed. WB in base is pretty straight forward: go after the terr when you can actually make it within 2 inches of it and take a shot. If you can't do that, spend your time between sniping off spiders/sharks and absorbing hits for you teammates (WB's have a fast recharge, so you mine as well use it).

For the above, I'm assuming both teams are inside the main base. If you have the base safely or are trying to break in, it's pretty obvious what a WB should be doing.

i think that div also meant that a wb in a game causes alot of distraction, and can easily occupy two of the enemy spiders. although you're points are entirely valid, i dont think he was referring to a wb killing all the enemy spiders etc... but a few nicely placed shots at nme sharks or spiders in certain shituations(shitty situations) can change the tide of a battle. but i could be wrong, div is very unpredictable at times.

right, i meant what hellz said, in THEORY i could go 0-0 and play a fantastic game, if all i was doing was keeping two+ spiders busy the whole time, then my team always has a 7 on 6 (or better) advantage, which when you're the pallies, is more than enough. eric brought up some good points too, although i think there's definitely more room for terr killing than within two inches.

That's more or less what I meant by "absorbing hits for your teammates", but you are correct again . I've been trying to keep my posts and explainations short lately because people seem to think I'm an egotistical jerk when I write a full page about something hehe.

I spent almost my entire first year in TW as a base WB and it is still quite fun. I played one in ?go base for the first time two days ago and managed to grab MVP by killing Randedl (the enemy terr) 8-10 times I think. Half the kills were the typical snipes in lower base or when the terr was coming up the tunnel. The tougher ones came from in the main base where I found that it is much more effective to take things slow. I'm sure anyone who bases knows this, but you need to know which bullets/bombs to dodge and which to charge into for the sake of your teammates. By floating around slowly and staying alive when I could, it was so much easier to charge the terr at the right time.

I mentioned the 2 inches because within that distance WB bullets have a great chance of "ignoring" reps. You can definetely get terr kills outside that range, but a lot of things have to go correctly for your bullet to reach the terr on the other side of the base.
