Howard's Top 5 TWLB List - Warbirds + Javelins

Reviewing the statistics, going over games I've seen... here are the top 5 in each category. This is time consuming, so I'll do the easiest first, and then spider, terrier, and shark seperately (and on another day)

Warbirds -- only 4 players were WBs this league, and there really wasn't sufficient data to go on, however it should be noted that Divine Rides from pallies played 4 games as warbird and lost only one of those [against -Final- last week, a game I will not touch with a 10 foot pole].

He racked up an impressive 5 TerKs vs. Spastic against the very skilled Necromotic... quite a feat in itself.

Javelins -- a total of 17, only 12 played more than one game in jav, so the ones who only played once are excluded.

Top 5
1. Turbonium - whiterabbits
HIGHLIGHT: vs. Sk8, 74 and 23, 7 TerKs (more than half that game)
2. CrvenBan - disoblige
HIGHLIGHT: vs. syndicate, 72 and 52, but 10 TerKs (again, more than half)
3. M_M God - Mambo
HIGHLIGHT: vs. BasingCrew, 84 and 36 (but an unfortunate 11 TKs)
4. Pearl Jam - pallies
HIGHLIGHT: vs. Rejected Basers, 85 and 47 with 6 TerKs
5. Domi - -FINAL-
HIGHLIGHT: vs. disoblige, 97 and 62, 7 TerKs, but put it where it counts.

Domi led the Javelins in MVPs, with a total of 2.

Now, for amusement value, I'd like to examine the LANCASTERS. 2 players were played in lancaster this season, in both cases they lost, no TerKs, no outstanding record.

In this commentator's opinion... playing a lancaster in TWLB represents contempt for your opponent in the case of an experienced squad, or inexperience, in the case of a newer squad.

Pallies was the former, they played vihta in it against BasingCrew, who was up to that point not doing so well.

Defiancy played Abatis as a lancaster against Sk8, and if they had spidered him, they might have turned out a win in that hotly contest game. While I won't say they LOST by playing a lancaster, it definately did not help.

He also played almost twice as many games. You need to figure an average per game.

Here is where JeBu stands, my less than sharp witted friend... out of the 12 who played more than 1 game...

In KPG [kills per game] -- 7th ... with a very large gap (12 kills per game) between him and 6th (Tobe)

In Ratio -- 11th

TerKills per game I had to do manually, but no big deal, its simple math, right?

Here, you weren't AS far off... JeBu actually ranks 3rd.
CrvenBan comes in on top with 6.3 TerK/G
NOCKM narrowly over JeBu at 4.5
JeBu in at 4.4

Impressive to keep with 7 games in as Javelin.

Still, the best in TWLB? No. The most played jav in TWLB? Yes.

JeBu is clearly skilled, he is suicidal, but a good player, but you need to face the fact there are better javelins in this league.

So many people play this game as if lives hung in the balance for winning/losing or even just recognition. Strange to me. Being competitive is one thing, being slightly unstable is another. I liked the post.. keep em coming, I want to read about the rest of the ships, especially since I missed getting to watch so many games this season.

Howard, the problem with the stats is that they record only the ship that the player ended the game with.
In other words, if someone plays a spider for the first 12 minutes of a game, then gets switched to a shark, the stats look like a shark had the most incredible game possible.
Look at RabbitRapist in Week 6 (RB vs. Pallies). He ended in shark with a record of 107 - 79. I didnt see the game but I'm sure that we can all agree that he didn't get 107 kills in a shark. (Just as I'm pretty sure Heavensent didn't go 10-97 in a spider in same game, as the stats reflect).

I don't think it ever will work unless someone comes along with a special form of autism that allows them to perform miracles ONLY in the lancaster.

I think the stats are still valid to use, mostly because I don't believe anyone intentionally tried to take advantage of this issue (pumping thier stats by switching ships right before game ended).

Just look closely at any unusual numbers and be careful.
