Some good advice, but there are some reasons why I give credit to some. When I was on the first RB, some became envious and actually told me so after they left, they felt I took too much attention. I just wanna give credit where it is due, as you said it is a team effort, but you can't give credit to everyone is also true and it deflates the value of those that actually try and are good.
It also gives a sense of competition, those that wanna be recognized can easily if they just work at it.
Also, just my opinion, but if caps said nothing, credit is usually just given to caps and maybe a few that make their presence known. Seems greedy and slightly cowardly to not take the opportunity to 'show your cards'.
People shouldn't take this game so seriously, if your impressed by someone's performance just go out and say it. Secrets, frankly, is just gay, but that's how everyone treats this game. I'm more interested in building up competition as a whole in all of twbd, that can be acheived by making a big noise, being very active, and spreading the skill. Those that wanna stay in RB after they make their name are totally encouraged to do so, those that leave early on will help the basing community as a whole and in long term probably wouldn't be good for your squad to begin with.
I also don't wanna give people the wrong idea about how good they are, many squads are making the mistakes of only playing games they are likely to win. But by the time twl comes around and the team loses, or they get stomped by some team after building up this squad 'ego', many might choose to leave. So RB plays tough matches for a reality check, for training/experience, and a goal to beat.
False egos can kill a squad, and those more sucessible to it would leave early in this fashion also. While the loyal and unselfish people stay, and I hope in long term those people will realize it does pay off, once the squad solidifies.
PS I usually don't insult people after they leave if they leave, they only hurt themselves and this is just a game. I rather stay blunt and honest then to try to play tw politics...although maybe that's politics in itself. meh
