TWLB Semis: -Final- vs Pallies
I heard the A-S game was better than this one, but I missed that one. Although the score looks pretty lopsided in favor of Pallies (up by a good 6 minutes), that doesn't really describe the game particularly well. Up until the last six minutes it was pretty much dead even, with both teams splitting flagroom and cram time, both teams showing some sloppiness in the cram, and some rather uncharacteristic mistakes. -Final- sharks were not switching well in the fr or in the cram, and got burned being too aggressive in lower several times during the match. Even so, -F-'s spiders were making up ground in the cram for the first two thirds of the match, taking advantage of the 4 v 5 spider situation created by pallies playing a bird. Around minute 20, -F-'s resolve started to crumble, and the frustration and irritation began showing in their play. Divine Rides (6 terrkills, but 82-105), although definetly not dominating the lower base, was causing enough annoyance to seriously throw off -final-'s cram breaking. Really, this game was about perserverance, as both teams were making mistakes, but the well oiled machine that usually is -final- seemed much less able to cope than pallies. Surprisingly, -final-'s spider advantage was not that great a factor after the halfway point, where as before hand I would've thought that would've been a source fo concern in the pallies locker room. -Final- has one of the best spider core's in TW, and to play them short shows a lot of balls on the part of Pallies.
Take on MVP: Mythrandir played a pretty decent game, drawing 4 less deaths than Mitch, but does not deserve MVP. He showed some sloppiness for the first ten minutes, and had a couple deaths that could've probably been avoided in fr. I'd give MVP to Vihta, who was almost always the cram breaker for Pallies, pulling an astounding 163-100, and also coming up with several clutch kills during fr fights. Honorable mentions to all the other Pallies spiders, as they shut the door on -Final-'s TWLB season.
