TWLDM Wrap-Up

well, it was the day of finals. . . including this one.

people might not care as much about it, but i had fun with the experience. look for it to be a standing project in seasons to come.

warpath, the only twd squad to qualify for the final, ended up winning. well done guys, didn't know you had it in you.

mvps went to those three guys from grapevine, after all, it is OUR event.

I'd like to personally thank Webbb for the idea, Witness for the awesome maps (i hear he has something wicked planned for next season) and all the people who had fun playing.

Further, a very special thanks to Swimkid and Holy for helping out on the hosting issues, and further to Diakka, who was there almost every weekend. it wouldn't have happened without these guys. thanks for the help where i couldn't be there.

Thanks alot for doing this rand! the few games i played was fun, its events like these that make tw what it is. Hopefully next season both you and your event will get more streetcred (hih).

A few tips to make it more interesting might be to cut down on the number of rounds and have more teams qualify pr. round. I think the reason many got somewhat bored was the endless number of qualifiers, you had a really good turnout for the 5-6 first games

i agree with whoever said cut down the number of qualifying rounds. by the end of the season you have teams qualifying by finishing 9th, etc.. takes a little of the fun out of it.

well i want to play every week. i don't see why not to do it.

i think that 12 teams was a good number. . .

how about constructive ways to get this fixed?

12 weeks is fine, but the final should only be made up of winners, even if that means that there are only 4 squads in the final because several of the squads won multiple times. i just think its dumb that getting 6th one week gets you a ticket to the finals. either way its not a big deal because the dm thing is pretty non-competitive, so whatever.

- have a set time that it is hosted every week so that people get to know the specific time they should come to play the game ... it might produce a bigger and more fun game

- we had a guest squad because we had an odd number of squads. . . i don't think it matters one way or another. warpath won, good for them.

-we tried this. people from europe cried that it wasn't fair to them, and vice versa. if you can figure out a time that accomadates the whole globe, we will use that. . . we did as best we could to make sure everybody who wanted to, could play. keep in mind, this is easier to do in the summer than during the school year.
