I think there are 4 different ships, I could write an essay but I will just summarize because it's about the weasel here:
Deployer - Terrier - We all know what it does, it's the link to base
Defender - Sharks - It's the shark's job to defend the team
Fighters - Spiders/new Lanc - It's their job to win it from the other fighters and make the other defenders fail
Attackers - Javelin/warbird - You are probably stronger without them unless they also do their share in fighting. But because of their low firerate it's their main goal to kill the enemy terrier so the stream of new enemy fighters stop
Now we aren't talking about public, but in ?Go base it would be nice to have all ships adjusted so they can be used for basing. I see basing as an event, a game on itself.
The lancaster was useless at start, it still doesn't seem to compete with the spider, but remember how basingteams would hardly had spiders in the begin too. It just takes practice, I think the lancaster can keep up with spiders.
Now looking at the weasel I think it's a bit hard to change it into an attacker, it's too slow and it hardly has a weapon, so I think it comes closest to the shark. So why not try to turn it into a defender? Change it to the tiny weasel and give it 3 repels, see if it works and maybe adjust it a bit.
The best thing would maybe be to give it one mine too, a mine that costs very little energy to place and without delay. That way the weasel could rocket and place a mine in front of the enemy, and when it's hit or repped a new one.
