Well, there are arguments for both sides. I think I agree with Cig & GHB & company here, but then again- if a squad builds up a deficit now (or, more problematically, squads pull away to about 1400-1500 and STOP PLAYING UNTIL THE TWL PERIOD), there's little way to correct that without another reset.

I'm pretty sure that the reset was the last reset. This reset should determine who gets into TWL. If TWD is reset again, it just wouldn't really make much sense since things are running smoothly.

I hope there isn't another reset but if there is I hope the qualification period is a decent amount of time (2 months+).
It took more than the 1 month given for qualification last time for the ladders to settle down and reflect true rankings.

The whole purpose in having 1 more reset between now and next TWL is to discover/fix any bot kinks, if any, and the reason to have one now as opposed to just waiting is to put the TWL squads back on the map, more for posterity's sake. I will link lnx to this thread and see what he thinks.

For once Cig Smoke is actually right. The best way to get the best squads in twl is to have the longest reset possible. It has a much better chance of getting stable squads than if you reset right before twl. The more games played, and the more real life time that passes the more accurate the twd rankings are in determining strong/stable squads.

The only reason the last twd reset was so late was because they were trying to add new options to the bots and wanted these new bots used for the twd period that would determine the twl squads. Eventually these bots didn't even happen, push took over and decided enough was enough let's just start the damn thing and reset twd with only a few weeks left before the start of twl. The massive wait for the twd reset was not good.


As for you stupid people that say "what about those squads that play all the games now and then disappear!!!" 1. If they disappear if other squads are deserving they'll quickly pass them in the rankings. 2. If you don't play you get removed from the ladder and don't get invited to twl. Obviously twd isn't perfect, but having resets in the middle of thigns doesn't help solve any of these problems, it just makes it a worse system.

CC:ya i dont wanna bash Elenya bc i liked gemfire, but they are a good example of what happend last TWD season with the short time. THere are a few other examples but none came to my mind when i was posting. They did make it fair and square, even if it was the "ez" way of getting in, but i think we see what happend during the sesaon with them too 8) Trying to eliminate those problems.

I agree that a longer reset is how it should be. But I also think that if we do that we'll see how exploitable our ladder system is currently. Although the point of TWD is automation, even in choosing TWL squads, I think TWL ops should have the freedom to say, this squad expoited the ladder and shouldn't be allowed in TWL and take the next squad on the ladder.

Even better to avoid complaining and accusations of being unfair that will surely come, stricter/more rules should be added in terms of playing only easy squads to get up the ladder. It's way too easy to do right now.

Well ya thats bc of how even the points are. U can play DarkOps and get 20-30 points just bc of how even the ratings are bc they jsut reset. Give them a month or so and u'll get maybe 5-10 (depending how much u win and how much they lose). If u keep it reset for a long time you will eventualy have to play the high rated squads to get up the ladder. Getting 5 points for a win won get u up there unless u play 20ish games a day.

I also think the ops should be able to say "no u cant get in ur not good enough" or something like that, but i doubt that would ever happen bc of fairness issues. How would u determine if someone is good enough or not? Just keep it reset for a longer amount of time and it should get atleast most of the best squads towards the top.

Also its so hard to find a game nowdays bc of squads playing 'pussy" not saying mine dont, bc we didnt BD A-S when a few guys werent on, so we did it too, but imagine how bad it will be if u reset it again closer to the date. This avoiding games will only last a few weeks then ppl will start playing more.
