I been thinking about it, maybe it is that people just dont give the "new guys on the scene" a chance, at all. I mean either sum n00bs are gonna have to start a squad and see wear it goes or ppl are gonna have to take on the newer ppl to basing, javing, and dueling alike to teach them. That is the only way the game will start to thrive again.

I don't really think the newer players can really tell the 'vets' that they're wrong about the talent declining in TW. After all, the 'vets' have seen both eras - the new kids on the block haven't. So unless you have an older brother or some other kind of evidence to support your argument that TW has maintained its skill level, don't berate another's opinions who are just as if not more valid as your own.1:koan> indy is like being skinny and liking weird music

the talent isn't declining, it's skyrocketing in any league if anything, the vets of old are just too stubborn to realize it. Don't get me wrong, the banzi's and bloodzombie's(lol) of old were really kick ass, but the only reason people don't notice the talent know is because almost all the washed up vets pretend like they still rock this game and that they just don't try, and so all these posers just wait for them to start trying and show all these "newbies" up. The truth is, you can't compare the skill level of today with the past, because of all the different changes to the game and the style of play. The res, the greens, all kinds of shit has affected the dueling leagues, the only way i can say you can compare the two generations is if you take todays tw vets, and the tw vets of old, and play them with both old and new settings in all the leagues, and see who wins. But that's nearly impossible, so everyone can stop with the argument. The skill level isn't declining, people just like to see players with numbers or exlamation marks in there names(booya) pass them in skill level, so they make all these excuses up. with tw population higher than ever, how can you say the skill level is declining. Last year saw some of the most varied competition ever in tw. There wasn't just two squad dominating everybody, all three leagues could have been a toss up between 4-5 teams. That's proof the skill level isn't declining.

You're just showing your ignorance (again) Paul. At no point did I say the vet argument is more plausible than yours based on the # of people who support it.1:koan> indy is like being skinny and liking weird music

I guess my point is, though I am (and some others are) arguing that there in fact ISN'T a decline in talent, that more importantly, there's no reason to be saying this even if there were... unless of course you're going somewhere else with it.Last edited by PaulOakenfold; 11-02-2004, 11:36 AM.
