Replacing disqualified teams

I was just wondering why it's necessarily the #1 team that gets to replace the fallen teams when they leave TWL. Often, teams will rating whore to get higher ratings than they deserve, so the #1 team in each ladder isn't necessarily the best. Also, this system encourages teams to just get a high rating and sit on it without playing people.

What if instead of this system, the top 2 teams played off, or better yet, top four teams, in a mini tourny (maybe each one having best of 3 rounds), and the winner of this gets to replace the team?

also, feel free to note my bias, but I still think this is a good idea

Keep it as is. Chances are the squad that makes it into TWL will be at the bottom of the pile anyway- so if some team lames their way in, they'll just be eaten up and chewed out anyway. Serves them right I say.

I kinda don't like that idea but at this point.. what the hell.. there aren't any decent squads left on the TWD ladder anyways :whistling

Edit: Revamp the TWD system (NOT with Sumpson's idea) so we don't have this problem and that fun ass week of feeding before the lock.

We have time for a mini tourny to decide who gets replaced and have negotiations for time slots . What's that give us, one day to have this tourny after a team dissolves. The reason we don't do that is because the teams need to be replaced immediately so they have time to prepare for the upcoming week. Thanks
