To me, TWL-D is where its at. Thats the only league I ever found intriguing. It's a timeless classic. The other ones are just for shits and giggles.

TWLB has the largest luck factor.

In javelins and warbirds, a good team will always beat a bad one.
In base, even a "bad" team can surprise the good one I think.

The thing is, TWLD used to be the ONLY thing in TWL. So alot of players from around that era are still active and playing. There is alot more competition in TWLD and TWLJ cause more people play jav elims and wb elims than playing in ?go base. I agree with disq when he says that TWLD is the only league that matters but thats just cause im an oldy and we have that imprinted in our brains. :P

If I was to rate the league that for me seems to be the hardest, most competitive, most respected and fair (not much lagcheating to speak off) it would definately be TWLJ. The ship is perfect, simple but full of twists. The map is good. The players are very very good.

I always prefered LJ, I think it's the most fun and most team oriented. People always say that basing takes superb teaming, thats total bullshit. To have a TWLB Champion type team you only need a few things.


A) A Superb terrier, because quite frankly they CAN do it mostly alone.
Two decent sharks, they don't even need to be that good, thats how easy the job is.
C) 5 spiders with good aim, mayeb 1 good camper

javs and wbs aren't as useful, long live the cram.

It's a very basic strat that everybody knows. it's pretty simple, I can go into a game and know what to do in every situation because only a handful of situations come up so I don't really think it takes that much teaming. No more than the other leagues at least.

That's a big problem in TWLB IMO. Because defending a cram is quite easy, a lucky TD in the beginning can practically decide about the game. Even a mediocre team can hold a cram, but if their terr would somehow die, they might be even worse at attacking than the other team. The cram is in too important a part as it is now.

And no, I have no idea what my point was either.

I think what you mean is that it should be Trench Wars League Basing, not Trench Wars League Cramming.

TWLJ = lag helps but not that much as in TWLD/whiners too (always whining after rounds) or some players pming during rounds)/kinda fun

TWLB = yes players lag too but it's not that annoying as in other leagues/fun
4spid limit would make it more fun

There is more newbies and whiners in LD and LJ why we even need those leagues they can go to elim. whine and lag there and LD and LJ don't need teaming so it's not important if you don't have team around, and all LD and LJ players squadhop anyway so whats the point keep those leagues?

Somehow, it always goes back to having less spiders. How about looking at it from an other angle for once. What makes the cram so strong? Sharks. Any ideas how to fiddle with them to make it work?

I've long had thoughts of having a 1 shark limit, but that would fuck up all the training everyone has had. If you take the one hard thing in sharking away, timing, THEN the shark would be a pretty braindead ship, and I don't want that.

I agree with Disq here. I think the reason why TWL-B has more competition, is that it doesn't take nearly amount of skill that is needed to succeed in TWL-D or in TWL-J.

Why isnt everyone good at basing then? Why wont Teks win TWLB?
